Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Busy day ahead.
Trying to get some projects out of the way before next week.
0358a MFP post? Yikes! You should've just started us off today, MommaMoody!
Game 2 tonight (Caps).
How's DS settling into new role with the (I still have trouble saying it) Washington Commanders, Mary?

Good morning BBB crew.
Still basking in the glow of the Sounders victory over Pumas of Mexico City last night. There were 68,000+ crazies in the stands. We take our soccer seriously up here.
Kelly, I was pretty pleased with how my legs felt after my 14-mile hike. I felt some fatigue, but nothing exceptional. Knees felt fine, too. I think walking regularly with Sassy maintained a base level of fitness. Now Steph describing a 60-mile bike ride as an easy day, that impresses me.0 -
Morning BBB.
We didn’t make the whole route.I checked with the land management about trail conditions before we left. He said super good with a few muddy spots that are typically there year round. Failed to mention the 5 bridges that were burned in last years fire that are being rebuilt. Lots of workers and equipment tearing up the trail. We were able to route around. But the at mile 17 there were a zillion blow downs. After climbing over 15 or so we gave up and turned back. We met another couple at the parking lot that had ebikes. They said there were 51 total. So glad we turned back but so disappointing. It’s a lovely trail.
Today it’s super windy. Going to hike our Forrest loop as we are sorta blocked from the highest winds.0 -
Good morning BBB
Where you staying in Florida, Kelly? Im looking at all possibilities for a destination wedding, or honeymoon even. Both.
I wish I was planting Flowers! Still too cold at night here.
Tell me how/where to you all got married, I'm interested to know and need ideas. Tx!
Ds1 send a nice note last night. Has never been this busy...but is very happy so far. And Loves his apt & neighborhood...0 -

The Methodist church in our hometown. Broke 20 year olds don't have the funds to be imaginative.1 -

Much like Dennis, we were broke 20 somethings. Got married at Ft. Belvoir chapel (free) and reception at the Ft. Belvoir community center (under $10k to feed 150 people).
Honeymooned in Estes Park, CO! One of the most breathtaking places and quaint places I've ever been. We renewed our vows there five years ago.
Whatever you do - enjoy the moment! Enjoy the EXPERIENCE. Nothing needs to be expensive to be memorable.

We stood on a patio with a fern stand in center with large flower arrangement and candle sticks on each side. DMIL had borrowed 120 folding chairs from funeral home that where we setup 60 on each side. We had planned on about a hundred but had 214 sign guest book. Reception was in living and dinning room of house. Couple of my aunts made up snacks and punch and one of Joanne's aunts made the wedding cake. Our wedding cost $125.00 which included Joanne's dress, she purchased fabric and their neighbor made dress as wedding gift, flowers, candles and $40.00 to pastor.1 -

We got married at a State Park in a picnic shelter with some rented chairs but mostly standing. Reception at the lodge nearby, shuttled guests with a trolley. 2pm so only food was cake, cheese cake and chocolates as centerpieces. No alcohol since it was a state park and prohibited. Most expensive part was cabin rentals. We rented cabins for wedding party and immediate family.
Not a broke 20 yo but didn’t see the need to spend too much. Didn’t feel like my parents should pay for everything since I was 29 and had a good job.1 -
We were also broke 20 years olds (still in college, with a 4 month old daughter). We had a tiny wedding in a really big church (which made it look even tinier!), and the reception in the fellowship hall. The church ladies made ham buns and my dad made the cake. No alcohol or music. World's most boring reception. I think the whole shebang cost about $2000 in 1991, and most of that was the photos.
Of course, that was followed by a little champagne gathering at Jim's parents' house (because it all was over before 5pm), where his uncle had a full seizure and we had to call 911. We thought he was dying. After the ambulance and fire trucks left, Jim and I lost it. We went to his old room and cried for a LONG time ... all the feelings of the day just bubbled up. We learned later that his uncle was an alcoholic who was trying really hard to be sober for our wedding, and the seizure was withdrawl. He died a few years later of liver failure. He was a good guy.1
