    Good morning!

At our house, we always think that the power will be out for 10 minutes, and then it will come back on. So, we are in the fridge several times while the power is out. Not smart. We were at the point when we needed to go shopping anyway. We threw out some, but not a lot. The freezer was fine.

I went to the grocery to buy meat last night. The prices for meat are horrifying.

We are expecting more storms tonight.

I didn't watch for the lunar eclipse. Connie and Collin watched it. I chose to sleep as I had to get up early for work. Bill, I'm glad Heather was happy. Happy wife....

    Have a great day!

    Mornin'

Weather turned chilly here, but beautiful blue sky. Yesterday was warm, humid, and showers all day. Bible study this morning but then i'll go for a hike in the hills.

Filling my RAV4 tank cost me $60 yesterday, almost twice what it used to. Maybe I should bicycle to places instead of driving.

I remember as a kid when the lights went out and we lit kerosene lamps at night. Was disappointed when the lights came back on. Of course when I lost power for 5 days in 2008 after a devastating ice storm, that was not much fun.

    Have a good one...

    Mornin' gents.

Sam is so hip. He tweets.
Cool that some got to watch the eclipse. I was unaware but woke up yesterday morning to a very bright moon.
Got second COVID booster on Saturday. No perceivable ill effects. May not be necessary but since I will be flying to Scotland in a huge petri dish where masks are optional, DW and I are taking no chances. Started with Pfizer vaccine, first and second boosters were Moderna. I have a lot of acquaintances in my rod and gun club that don't believe in getting vaccinated and spew unsubstantiated side effect BS as fact to support their belief. One recently asked me why I am still getting vaccinated since I got sick after getting the first shots. I had never discussed my medical issues with this guy, so evidently someone I had discussed my condition with obviously started a rumor that it was vaccine related. I had to clarify, that I started having trouble a year and a half before the Wuhan outbreak, then on the exact date of the Wuhan outbreak I got really sick. Long before there was even a vaccine. Just an example of how misinformation gets spread around.
I have a writer friend that says to never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

    Be OP ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

On our flight to and from Las Vegas, I'd guess no more than 10 percent of the passengers were masked. We were. One of the positive side effects of the pandemic, though, is that airlines have upgraded the air circulation and filtering systems, so cabin air is much cleaner than it used to be.

I got the lawn mowed yesterday, then took Sassy for a walk. No rain in the forecast for today - yay! - but I don't know how I will take advantage. Rita will be working in the yard and garden, I'm sure.

    Good Morning,
    Continues HOT and needing rain
I know for past 20 years British Airlines as well as Delta have been using a special air treatment and circulation system where I feel safer on plane than in hospitals. Any virus or germs are killed instantly also kills mold and mold spores.
My primary doctor has recommended another COVID booster saying with issues best not take a chance
Our gas prices are now about $4.10 a gallon for regular
Grocery prices are up over 50%
With inflation one would think savings interest would increase, folks needing loans are paying much more.

    Good Morning

I slept like a rock for 7 hours. Yesterday was an increasingly bad pain day. I did my few errands and worked on getting things under control with rest, TENS & Tylenol. By 10pm I was doing better and by 11 I was in bed. Feeling better today, but I will take a shortcut to at least Tramadol if it flares up today. I guess the short hike in the hills without poles was a mistake. Still no new eyeglasses. They have sensed my annoyment but I doubt it will do any good, says the grumpy old man.

I had a lot of shoulder pains yesterday and also the spot where I had a rib taken out in 2001 and 4 thoracic vertebrae fused. I can go years sometimes without noticeable pain there. hrmph!!
I had marginal luck with TENS after the operation but it got a lot better in a year or two. I wonder if we had a weather event?? We did get a cloudburst on sunday with 1/2 inch in about 5 minutes.
I agree that cabin air on planes is very good indeed. I still don't want to sit next to a sicky!!

Wow Lee how the misinformation travels!!! Sad indeed that folks spread rumors about you that aren't true! I had just a sore arm with second booster and that's it. My dear wife even less of an arm thing.

Too cloudy here for lunar eclipse but low in the horizon with possible tree in the way and some hills too.

Am going to get my DW out for a bike ride today. We are preparing to do a 10 mile bike and birding trip with the Portland (OR) Audubon Society in some rather flat wetlands and small lake/ponds near where the Willamette River joins the Columbia River. She needs to ride and get her clothing adjusted etc.
