Mornin' BBB.
I'm always feel a little awkward about saying "Happy" Memorial Day. I feel it is really a somber remembrance and day of thanks to those who gave all.

- You are so right Lee. 'Happy' doesn't belong on this day we remember the fallen.
- I think I got all my stuff ready for the ceremony. Our speaker is from the Montford Point Marines. If you are not familiar with that group look them up.
- All that said, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy your holiday weekend. And yes, it is the unofficial start of summer, which has to be a good thing.

Today is a somber day of remembrance but also a day to reflect on the sacrifices and service of all who laid their life down in defense of our Freedoms and educate the future generation about the meaning of sacrifice, honor, commitment, duty, and freedom.
Great pool day yesterday. "Miss Daisy" a 9 y/o pitt of my friends came to enjoy. It was comical to watch the pups. Miss Daisy wasn't afraid of water and I think gave Mr. Tucker some much needed confidence. The day wasn't without injury......poor Miss Daisy ripped one of the pads on her hind foot. Went to their house last night and it was bandaged up w/ some bag balm and she was LOVING the extra attention and truly playing up the pain and sympathy! Dogs are just comical!
Today is a rinse repeat. Quiet with just DMIL/DW me and and Tucker. Some pool time. DW made my favorite potato salad Saturday night and we'll throw some hot dogs on grill later. I ate a few jumbo lump crab cakes yesterday. SO far so good with the swallowing!

Remembering all those I have known who have fallen, and all the others, before and after.
Sassy loved having another dog to play with. She and Jackie, the Australian shepherd, were instant buddies. Being two high-energy dogs, they were soon chasing each other all over the yard. Sassy slept like a log last night.0 -

Good morning. I agree with you on the sentiment, folks. I'll take the day off, but I've never seen it as a "happy" holiday.
I was told when I moved here that the rustic stars that people hang on the outside of their houses tell that story.

Morning everyone
Glad our BBB doggies had some fun.
Uneventful day yesterday and nothing planned for today. Might take a drive around the lake and see if the store at the RV park has any beer. Forgot to resupply when we were in town.
Ron has been sleeping on the floor and his back seems to be improving. Maybe the bed has been the problem.0 -
I’m pooped. Worked all weekend on our house then Reilly’s new house about 1/2 hour away. Painted from a little after 7 until 5. I’m looking forward to going back to work so I can rest.
No pool time.

I loathe painting. It never looks "smooth" when I try. Alas, I call the guy.
