Mornin' BBB.
Sorry you haven't seen any noticeable/measurable improvement yet, Mary. Fingers crossed it will come.
The question of increased sightings and contact with bears and cougars and wildlife in general being them encroaching on urban areas vs urban areas encroaching on wildlife areas is both. Obviously, as human population grows and wildlife population grows (through conservation efforts) there will be increased contact. Everybody wants to live like Grizzly Adams until property is damaged or a family member is maimed or killed. Personally, I think the elephant in the room is that humans need to curb their population growth more than anything else. One of the conspiracy theories behind COVID is that is was a purposeful way to manage human numbers on this planet.
Can of worms opened.

Morning~
That was a great show (Grizzly Adams)!!!!
HOT humid yesterday - but managed to give in to the puppers at my feet starting at the pool all afternoon and find some splash time. He got 3 new glow in the dark rubber balls and that was nirvana when playing in the pool! Just dropped at Dogtopia for a day of puppy day care - today is forecast rain and I didn't want him cooped up all day without playing out some energy!
C'mon weekend!
Mary - hoping that the remaining treatments give you some tangible results! Glad to hear DS is enjoying all of DC.
DF arrives next week. He better be on his best behavior! We are taking him to a Nats game and to the VFW. That should wear him down and keep him from complaining (too much).
Cheers,
Skipper0 -
Good Morning BBB
More bobcat and other wildlife sightings in our area as growth continues unfettered.
Mary - fingers crossed you will have results with TED
Skip - good luck with DF
Busy here - some cool stuff Tom has been doing - everything from golf carts to gold leaf on vintage vehicles.2 -
Good morning.
I much prefer the penthouse condo downtown to being surrounded by nature.
The gold leaf looks awesome, Raine.0 -
Good morning BBB Friends.
- DW had a Harley Softail Classic with goldleaf on the tank. Awesome.
- I'll add my best wishes that the treatments work Mary.
- Mailman and UPS are supposed to be delivering Boys State office supplies today, plus a new battery for my laptop.
- DW and I have a date to see Top Gun this afternoon.
- "I think the elephant in the room is that humans need to curb their population growth more than anything else." I know it is not in the context you were speaking to Lee, but the population growth has a lot to do with global warming too. We will eventually choke ourselves out.

Good morning BBB crew.
(((Mary)))
Tom is an artist.
From a practical standpoint the population growth here in Washington is more about people moving than having babies. This has gone on for a while. There was a good reason that all over the West they used to sell T-shirts saying "Don't Californicate (fill in your state)." The ability of people to work remotely has made it worse, with people moving out into the foothills and working from their 5,000 sq. foot mini mansions.
I'll take nature over the penthouse every time, Lou (grinning).0 -
Good Afternoon,
Beautiful work Tom is doing
Population with births and deaths in U.S. is decreasing, migrations to South as well as west; looking for better environment and jobs
What is going to determine migration is industry going to continue to allow distant work from home or go back to old corporate thinking.
Continues HOT & HUMID0 -
I'll remind those who are contemplating retirement that we need a birth rate of 2.4 or higher per woman or Social Security will collapse under a pile of IOUs...
And if course, we aren't supposed to live as long as we do either, so Soylent Green?0 -
Hi all.
Drove across California today. What a great drive. Our airbnb is cute but on a much busier road than expected.
I don't think BBB has done its share towards the 2.4.
Checking out a redwood stste park tomorrow.
It's Ron's 49th birthday.0 -
Happy 49th Ron! Wonder where he'll celebrate his big 5 0 ?
Our big city MKE is getting out if control with crime, stolen cars going out reckless driving, hitting killing people in crashes,, etc and gun violence. They put a curfew in effect. Its so I don't even want to go into MKE and summer only just started!
Cool rainy weekend in the 60's will keep us home this weekend.
