Pleasantly cool morning. Up before the sun today.
Got a bunch of accumulated things put away yesterday, stuff in the back of my SUV and around my condo. Starting to make a dent in the clutter. Went for a hike afterwards, up along 5 waterfalls near the NH border.
Tomorrow I drive EX to a Boston neurologist appointment at a post-COVID treatment center. A 3-4 hour evaluation. Teenage DGD was going to do it, but EX doesn't trust her to get out of bed on time, and I had offered to do it if she needed a ride. She still can't drive, other than short distances. I will try to meet up with DS who works in Boston.
Friday I'm leaving for NH to visit older brother for a few days. He recently sent me a picture of a bear and 3 cubs sitting on his woodpile, right outside the house.
I need to get on the bike and at least see how my hip bursitis likes it. Will start with short rides on flat roads and trails, a few days in a row, and see how I do. Weight still hovering at 200.4
Have a good day. I might not be checking in next 4 or 5 days.0 -
Good morning!
Mike, I hope that the trip to Boston goes well. I hope that you have a relaxing and fun trip to NH.
It is going to be very hot and humid here for the next 10+ days. High humidity is what makes this so unbearable. Heat indexes well above 100. Collin over heated a bit yesterday. I don't know if he is going to make it in to work today or not. He has not gotten up yet, and he is usually up by now. Thank you all for all the kind words yesterday. I am praying that he will stick with this. I know that the heat is unbearable and I don't know if he will be able to physically make it through that. There is no air conditioning in the plant where he is working.
Bill, I'm glad that you and Heather were able to get out on a very nice trip to the coast.
Yesterday, Connie called One and Done handyman to get a few projects done that I have not gotten to. One of those is the kitchen sink that is not shutting off properly. Connie wants me to take the handle off and get the cartridge number for the repairman. If I do that, I might as well fix it myself. We don't always see eye to eye on some of these things. The repair person is also going to install a ceiling fan, clean the dryer vent, and install a new faucet in the tub/shower. All of these things I could do, but we are at a point where I have not done them, and it is best to hire in a little help.
I have been doing some research, and have talked with several people. I am more and more convinced that the general fatigue that I am feeling is still from when I had COVID in December. I talked with the pharmacist last night. His parents had COVID nine months ago and are still feeling fatigued and having lung problems.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
You are a busy guy and very considerate ex husband, Mike. Safe travels and have a wonderful time with your DB.
Spaying my older girl Babe today. Always get butterflies when I work on my own pets.
Younger dog Lucy in heat. 14 yr old neutered maltese thinks she is his girlfriend. It is kind of cute. I may breed this one someday.
COVID outbreak with a few guests at the Scotland wedding. DW and I feel fine and have tested negative. We are /were pretty careful about social distancing and hand sanitizing. We did not were masks at the wedding, but did wear masks on the plane rides.
Be OP ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
Sam, I am so sorry about your sister-in-law.
All your heat ... we have a space heater going because the furnace doesn't work and it's 43 outside. Still getting highs in the mid 60s, when we should be in mid to high 70s. I'm wearing wool socks and sweats.
I won four pieces of wood in the club raffle, last night. This morning I'll take a look at them to see what I got. Rita has a doctor's appointment this afternoon, so not much shop time.
Rita never throws anything away. Sometimes it pays off. She dug out a bag of our DS's old tidy-whities from his middle school days, 20 years ago. by putting them on backwards, with her tail through the fly, they make adequate diapers for Sassy, so she can stay with us in the carpeted parts of the house. She looks ludicrous, but it works.0 -
Good Morning
Sam, I too was saddened to read of your DSIL's passing. It is hard to watch such choices loved ones make. Peace and comfort to the family and loved ones.
Dave is living the good life up there. We hung around 90 degrees yesterday but we don't believe in humidity unless it is fog around here. Still seems pretty hot but in a month it will seem like a nice day. I tweaked my back yesterday crawling around the patio under the table to get out the old umbrella stand and put in the new one and the other new umbrella. Then I was able to actually fix the old stand after I pried out the rest of the once swollen, not rotten wood. I will put it out on a list for free pick-up. So I am sitting outside with coffee in the shade of an umbrella which is how I used to do morning prayer and silence. I didn't get out to walk after I tweaked my back yesterday, but I will ask my wife to join me when she gets home. Maybe I will try a short 20 min walk a bit later. I have my stretching routine together too. WI is going to be not good but you have to start somewhere. Hungarian Goulash happening tonight, some for dinner, some for leftovers, and a batch for the freezer.0
