Well, took me me 6 hours to prep the beds and plant all the veggies and stake them. I was whipped and had nothing left in the tank to trailer the boat to the local lake for a spin.
Super painful in hips a feet this am, switched to ibuprofen instead of celebrex. Amazing how much better ibuprofen works.
Belated Happy Fathers Day to all...totally forgot that it was Father's Day when I was posting yesterday.
Hope you and Pat enjoyed the movie, Bill.

Good morning gentlemen.
We called it vitamin I in the Army, Lee. I always kind of enjoy pain that comes from doing work; like the final sign than I really did something. Of course, if the pain lasts it's not so welcome.
Wonderful evening at DS's house last night.
Monday is Rita's casino day - euphemistically called running errands. But I need her to go in the morning, so I can check out some wood at our friend's house. DDIL's dad had a cherry tree cut down last week, and I want to see if the wood would be good for turning. He also has some large holly stumps that are sprouting. I want to saw them off to see if the wood is still solid. Holly is desirable because it is so white. It makes good accents to darker woods.0 -
Good morning!
Dave, I hope that you enjoyed your dinner with the family, and I hope that you find some good wood.
Lee, that sounds like good, hard work. Our garden is suffering due to the heat and lack of rain now. We are entering our third week of oppressive temps. Not good for June. The heat is really getting to Collin. We are still not sure how hard he will work to keep this job. Sigh....
My assistant has COVID and will be out for at least this week. Another sigh....
Have a great day!0 -
Good Morning
It has been a long time since I have spent or been able to spend 6 hours in the garden. Sounds good to me. I well remember the tired muscles from all the reaching and twisting, etc.
We had a good day yesterday just hanging out. We enjoyed the movie and later in the evening Pat and I streamed "The Northman". This week I begin to declutter my garden stuff and a bit of the garage for a run to the dump. I have some stuff to give away as well. Not sure what else I got going on yet. But I will need to stay active.0 -
Gardening can raise not just veggies but a bed of fits in our bodies too.
Guess Lee you'll have to boat later. We are putting off Father's Day until we all meet up at the beach later this week. don't think it has been much more than 60s this summer so far but suppose to be in the 70s and maybe one 80 degree day on Saturday. unusual in the PacNW to be that warm at coast.
Our garden has suffered a bit from cold and too much rain but I am hoping for tomatoes later this summer. A few cherry tomatoes setting miniature fruits just now.
Lettuce is great now and sugar snap peas too.0
