Cool 54º here this morning. Getting up to 90º by the weekend, though.
My cardiologist is ordering a stress test and an echocardiogram. I told him I'd been having pain in my back, neck and jaw, which comes on for no reason--usually when I'm just sitting or lying down--and goes away if I drink water. Not exercise-related, so probably not the heart, but he wants to be sure.
Nice but brief visit with DD and 2 GDs, 9 and 12. Young one went for a swim in the pool in the rain, the air was 59º.
Beginners Piano class this morning. Two, more difficult, pieces this week, which I haven't gotten down yet.

Good morning!
We finally broke our heat wave. Highs yesterday were in the low 80s. Back to the 90s again tomorrow. We are expecting storms again tonight and tomorrow night.
Mike, I'm glad that you had a good trip to NH. I hope that the cardiologist can either find something or rule out some things.
My assistant should be coming back to work today from COVID. We will both wear masks. I don't want to get that again.
Bill, it is funny how executive decisions that we make are subject to further review by SWMBO.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Interesting symptoms, Mike. Hope it is not cardiac related.
Ha! I picked up on the SWMBO reference in Bill's post yesterday too.
Good job masking around the assistant.
I thought it was interesting that my DS#2 who traveled with us to Scotland for the wedding got COVID, but me (on an immunosupressive drug) and DW did not get sick or test positive. DS#2 seems to have made a complete recovery. He was vaccinated and had 2 boosters, same as DW and I. Just made contact with the wrong people, maybe partied too hard, and somehow didn't infect me and DW. I guess the moral of this story is to leave the party early, get plenty of sleep, and limit hugging and kissing people.
How was the hike to Flapjack Lake, Dave?
Be OP ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
Great hike, yesterday. Aren't they all? This is a fairly hard one with some substantial mileage - 15.8 - and a pretty good climb - 3.400 feet - on some steep, rugged trail. I's a sort of annual test for me in my ongoing battle against old age. I passed. Sore today, though.
Pretty much perfect weather, here. It's 46, this morning, heading for 76 this afternoon. Sunny, with a light breeze. I'll mow the lawn, this afternoon.
I knew the SWMBO reference from the old Rumpole of the Baily TV series from Masterpiece Theater. Later learned it originated with the H. Rider Haggard novel She.0 -
Good Morning
Congrats on yesterday's hike Dave.
Rough day yesterday. We have cooled off to just under triple digits but the AC was struggling yesterday. The house never got below 83. I was already tired and just got more so as the day went on. I am pretty non-mechanical but I shut it down, played with the thermostat, opened it up jiggled some things, checked for any condensation leaks (a prior problem that I had repaired), checked the filter area for airflow and made sure the filter was dry, and suddenly it kicked back on full force. That is about as mechanical as I get. It was still tough sleeping upstairs last night. I need to start loading stuff up for my dump run tomorrow. That place is delightful in this heat.
