Got in a hike in light rain yesterday morning—2.5 miles and 350’ up and down. Mid-state Trail: it was overgrown with ferns and bushes that brushed my arms and legs, but the dampness made for a nice cooling workout. We had heavy rain and T-storms in the afternoon.

Started tracking food on Fit-Bit, discovered I have been unconsciously snacking, which adds up. And my coffee creamer has as many calories as a bowl of grits.

Another early hike, church later and then probably prepping more dried meals. I’ll have enough for 3 or 4 weeks—several more trips this season.

    Have a good day

    Good morning!

Mike, your camping trips sound awesome, and you eat great food while camping! Good for you! Your hikes sound fun. Keep the trail updates coming, I enjoy reading about them.

I didn't get much done at all yesterday, which is good. Today will be more about getting some stuff done. It is supposed to be hot and humid today, but I need to get the yard mowed. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse, with heat indexes above 100 again. We had 1.73 inches of rain yesterday, so it is going to be very muggy.

Poor Frankie will be so glad when this holiday is past us. I feel bad for her.

My weight is up two pounds this week. Ugh!

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Always enjoy Mike's hikes and canoe trips, too.

We are cloudy and cool, with a chance of some showers this afternoon. Tomorrow will be a little better, but still kind of blah.

I was out in the yard with Sassy last night at dusk, when there was a lot of early fireworks going off. She would look up and look curious when she heard the booms but didn't seem nervous or afraid. Hope that means she won't have problems Monday night, when the level of noise goes up exponentially.

Think we'll stay home from church, this morning. I need to get to the store for some whipping cream (DDIL brought us some wonderful local strawberries last night, so shortcake is on tonight's menu) and have another big, wet chunk of cherry to rough turn on my lathe.

Up early. Back from trip to Oregon Coast but have had trouble checking in here. We had a wonderful hike in wetlands plus a grove of old growth spruce with one tree over 900 years old. great times.

Up early to watch Wimbledon. Heather wanted a lazy day yesterday after a hard week at work so the TV stayed on. I reverse seared a tri-tip last night along with some corn and squash. Tonight will just be a simple grilled spatchcocked chicken with grilled asparagus and watermelon. Today's plans are unwritten till I check in with the boss but I will try to talk her into going for a stroll somewhere since we continue with rather cool weather.
