Happy Fourth.
Got up at 1:30 am yesterday to drive two hours to the eastern most state boat launch in CT. I wanted to be on the water at day break. By myself, just me, me wee boat, and my flies. Fishing wasn't great but I did not get skunked. I missed taking my boat out during the 2021season, so I am trying to make up for lost time. Sadly, 2022 gas prices are making the 4 hour round trip a bit pricier.

Sorry about the shingles, Lou. Ouch. Definitely get the vaccine when it is time. Shingles can attack the cornea and cause blindness requiring a corneal transplant. Scary stuff. I got mine.
Some idiot is shooting off fireworks at 7 am. SMH.
Glad you mentioned the smoke from the fire, Mary. I planned to burn a brush pile today, but I should check with a neighbor before I light it . The pile is located such that smoke may drift over to their yard and I don't want to ruin any gathering over they may be having. Just called him as I was writing this post and he said fine, LOL and he said to throw some firecrackers in there too.
DW is going on a nature/bird watching walk with her sister. I'm home alone with pups and burning brush pile.
Just cooking some burgers later. Dave, meatloaf is so good. Love the sandwiches after.

Happy Independence Day BBB Friends.
- DWs birthday is actually tomorrow. We were going shopping / dining early, but she came down with a headache. So now the trip is tomorrow on the actual day to be celebrated.
- A local restaurant has meatloaf as the special on Mondays. I look forward to Meatloaf Monday.
- Not a lot planned here today. The 'hood is having a golf cart parade and cookout.
- Thinking about you Lou. I hope you are not too uncomfortable. I got the 'old' shingles shot 9 years ago. There is now a new and improved one. I need to look into it.

Good morning BBB friends. Happy Independence Day.
We might go to the local parade, today. It is returning after a two-year hiatus. Always a fun, small town sort of parade.
The meatloaf was good, as was the mushroom gravy I made to go with it. The strawberry shortcake with fresh-whipped cream was great. Leftovers today.0 -

Went out on the bikes yesterday for breakfast run and today we are doing a lunch run - getting miles in before our Sturgis trip (we will be there the week before actual bike week so avoiding the drunken crazies).
Skip - great shot - definitely look into dock diving - your boy os a natural!
Lee - time out on the water alone sounds wonderful - even with the price of fuel.
Lou - sorry about the shingles.

Good morning.
The weird thing with Shingles is that I "feel" my clothes on that side of my body because the nerves are inflamed. The left hand has the worst of it and I can't grip anything with it.
That said, I did take a Bronco Sport for a test drive yesterday because there's nothing else to do when you're avoiding the sun. I like cars with lines, so I was hopeful, but there was no acceleration on that car. Going from 40-60 on an expressway merge quickly is a life or death proposition in Texas and that car wasn't up to it. Also tried the Explorer and Edge but I have a real issue paying that kind of money for a car. So I think I'm going to replace the tires on my current whip, get the recall done, and see where things are in a couple of years.0 -

DMIL woke us up at 3 this morning banging on furniture, she dreamed she had peed on self and bed,
Yesterday afternoon she was banging on wall, could not find her cell phone, she had it on vibrate and in covers on bed
I went down to get her dishes from supper, she only ate one shrimp and she was lying on bed said her heart was not beating she could not feel pulse; says she was dying or dead. She had worked herself into a real frizzy, heart rate 74 she has a pace maker and defibrillator, blood pressure 189/89, got her to slow down breathing blood pressure 155/88.
Ribs on smoker, watched neighborhood parade, next door neighbor coming over later, he just finished series of radiation, and wife breast cancer earlier this year. They are 6 and 8 years younger than us.
