    Good morning!

Well, it is back to work for me today. Month end and quarter end.

A special shout out to Dr. Lee. Lee was concerned about Frankie and her fear of loud noises. Lee called me, and made arrangements for some meds for Frankie to help calm her. We are so very appreciative. As it turns out, it was fairly quiet yesterday, so we didn't need them, but the next time a thunderstorm rolls through we will be ready. Lee, that was above and beyond, and I thank you very much!

I spent most of yesterday helping Connie with a pop up business that she started to sell aprons that she has been showing. I took over 50 photographs, and tweaked them on Lightroom. She has already sold three of them on her first day. She has enjoyed sewing them this summer.

We are in oppressive heat warnings for the next three days. Ugh.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Sassy's reaction to fireworks was interesting. She was surprised, then very curious. We opened the window in our bedroom, and she stood with her paws on the sill and eagerly looked outside with her tail wagging. No nerves from this pup. After a few minutes I told her it was time to go to bed and she curled up and was asleep almost immediately. The noise bothered me more than her.

I am loading up to go for a hike today. Heading up the Duckabush River, climbing over Big Hump Mountain, then on up the trail to the Olympic National Park boundary. Should be about 16 miles, round trip.

    Mornin'

Dave, enjoy the hike--ambitious mileage! Would Sassy eventually join in your hikes?

Steve, good luck to Connie on her little venture. Might be a good outlet for her. I always found working with my hands somehow emotionally healing.

Lee, congrats on the fishing. Yeah, the riding here and there in the car is getting pricey. $70 to fill my RAV4 tank the other day and it's half empty again. My gas to Maine is going to cost more than my camping fees.

I leave Thursday AM--skipping piano class to set up camp early. DS and 3 GKs will join me and will get to see two other DDs and their families. Monday I hope to move on to a semi wilderness chain of lakes near the border. MIght consider driving home via Canada and down into VT and NH instead of Maine Turnpike.

Time to start packing all my gear in earnest. My obsessive but abbreviated checklist has 271 items on it...

Hope all had a safe Fourth.
    Wow Dave!!! Nice puppy.

Off for early bike ride in wetlands than for hearing aid appointment.

We had a few fireworks in neighborhood, don't have a pup to get upset but do have a very over dramatic DMIL. I believe it is time to look at assisted living, DW wants to give her a few more weeks.
Sultry HOT with afternoon pop-up showers making it more humid and steamier
Hope month and quarter end goes smoothly for you Steve.
Mike, hope you have a great camping trip and enjoy family
Hope Sassy has a good hike with Dave.
Bob, very impressive keeping up daily riding

    Good Morning

We had a quiet 4th. Some illegal local fireworks but not many. I started my ribs late so they were less than great. We went out for a bit after the tennis was over but mostly just chilled. Exercise and housework today after Wimbledon.

    Afternoon gents.

Better to be prepared and not need than the other way around, Steve. You're most welcome.
Sorry about DMIL, Sam. That'll be tough on your DW.
Safe travels and have fun, Mike.
Hate it when you run out of time when going low and slow on the grill. Frustrating.
    Ride on, Bob!
    Have a great hike, Dave.

    Be OP ;-)
