I remember when Sam referred to Thursday's as "Friday Eve" -
Its been a "long short week" here. My boss is still out (likely for another two full weeks). My gut is - he is burning off leave to retire. We'll see. I hope not. He's one of the great ones!
I broke down and hit SBUX yesterday - using bonus stars (not cash). I'm still demonstrating against the $3.53 cup of coffee.
We need rain. Grass (despite watering) is looking abysmal. Ugh.
Cheers for a great day!

Good morning.
Fight the Capitalist Coffee Oppressors, Skip!
My niece arrives tomorrow, so we're trying to come up with things for her to see/do while she's here aside from eating BBQ and lazing at the pool. Not that those aren't virtuous activities...0 -
Good morning BBB Friends.
- Yep, it's Thursday.

Good morning BBB friends.
Hope things are looking up for you Lou. You have been having a challenging time.
Brought the grandkids home with us last night and have them through tonight. We all might take Sassy to a nearby state park for a hike in the forest. I need to get the lawn mown, too.0 -
Mornin' BBB.
Skip was exclaiming that 24 fish were a lot to process. Filleting bluegill and crappie is pretty easy if you have the right knife, fish cleaning glove, and board. 24 fishies in under 20 minutes with the tools above and a little running water. About the same or a bit longer if you gut them and scale them. Either way, GOOD EATS!
Hope this means you are feeling better, Lou.
Retirement rumors are swirling about me and DW in the town that we practice in. Its nice to know people care. DW is definitely counting the days. I do not intend to fully retire any time soon.
Have fun with the grand kids, Dave. I'm envious.
S'Bux has gotten stupid expensive. I got a coffee and an order of egg bites and it came to over $10. Granted, both the coffee and the egg bites were really good. Oder took almost 15 minutes because the joint was jammed.
How did the new to you 'Vette get out of line, Skip?

Morning BBB
Check engine light came on yesterday. Grrr. We just need this car to last until October. Hope it’s something cheap and easy. Assume we will try to get it in today. At least we have a shop here we trust.
I was planning to hike today but it’s a 20 minute drive away so maybe a bike ride instead. Coffee first.
I stealthily burned all my vacation before retirement too. Had one day left since i had to travel for an unscheduled work event on a vacation…bonus Ron was with me so he got meals paid for and got to meet all my coworkers.0 -
Tis TGIF Eve for you working stiffs
Good Afternoon,
Early morning breakfast with Emmaus group, then took oldest DGS for haircut, then stopped by hardware store for milorganite, recommended by good friend; hopefully will deter deer; glad Toad has a big trunk.
Very HOT and HUMID, even out riding it is HOT
I have saved vacation when I retired so they owed me about six months salary, now I did burn sick leave and left about a day.
We had youngest DGS last night and today, maybe till Sunday.
DGD is back in Florida till tomorrow
Therapist says DMIL needs a couple grab bars reckon I need to go get and get put up

I’m still planning another 11 years. Ugh. I’ve got enough sick leave to take about 8 months off.
Reckon alignment is result of nobody paying attention. New interior OEM carpet kit arrived. Anxious to get interior back to 100% new quality.0 -
I want to retire or at least take a sabbatical for a couple months. When I actually can retire which is around 3 years, I’ll still work
For cash only. No need to get the government involved.
Ds1 coming home for a week with his gf. Lots to do to get ready.0 -
