    Morning~

Despite the predictions - we had a relatively nice day; spots of sun through clouds throughout the muggy afternoon - lending itself to some pool time.

    Nice looking pups, Doc!

PLEASE don't retire! We all need empathetic critter fixers!

Looks like our Vette's for Vets will be rained out tomorrow - 100% rain forecasted. Ugh. Going to take DW to Draft House tomorrow night to see Maverick (Top Gun 2). Looking forward.

    Here's to a quiet day!

    Good morning BBB friends.

The photo of Babe and Lucy made me smile.

We have the grandkids for one more morning, then their mom will pick them up.

DS sent me a photo yesterday of a groundbreaking at a project on which he is the lead engineer. Our son is turning a ceremonial shovel next to the governor and one of our senators. Seems like he was just the bright young new guy and now he is one of the movers and shakers. Proud dad.

We are finally looking at an extended period of warm, pleasant weather: highs around 80 and no rain for the next 10 days. Summer is here.

    Good morning.

I have 10 years to retirement assuming the economy cooperates and Cecilia puts in 5. I refer to it as credits - a credit being a year of maxing out retirement without dipping into existing savings. Between the two of us, we need 15 credits. So, if she retires early, then I have to pick up the slack.

My plan does involve me pulling back in 5 years and taking something that pays less but requires less of me but still covers bills and fills the retirement account. Maybe a greeter at Wal-Mart.

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • I have a day with nothing on the schedule. Yay!
    • That said I leave for Boys Nation in a week. I really need to start getting my stuff together. I learnt years ago that waiting to the last minute just causes panic. I am driving this year which allows me to take all the extra comfort items.
    • The pre-retirement job is a good plan Lou. I lucked into mine. No direct reports, check out at 5 and no one is going to call you, work from home 1/2 the time. It was good and allowed me to max out my 401k contributions.
    • Babe, Lucy, Sassy, Tuck and Larry. The next generation of BBB dogs. They all make me smile. Did I miss anyone?

    Morning BBB.

If we were still working we would have the budget trimmed to bare so could be investing more during this market slump. As is we are using our cash cushion this year. Unless inflation gets really out of hand we don’t have to reevaluate for 3 more years.

We did have to spend $800 on the car yesterday. 4 new tires and a pack rat had moved in and chewed some wires. Guess we should drive more. Until Wednesday we hadn’t driven anywhere since we arrived last week. Exterminator was here on Tuesday but couldn’t catch him (living under pool pump) so probably stired him up and relocated to our engine. They are back tomorrow with traps. We are parking on the street a house up for today.
