Got much needed rain last yesterday and last night. At least an inch of gentle soaking rain.
I agree, the deer munching on carcass bones is likely for minerals. Maybe Sam should throw some rotting carcasses in the yard to distract the deers from his garden.
Time for a new collar for the invisible fence receiver.

    Good morning!

I'm not sure what is on tap for today. Whatever happens, it will be indoors. We are supposed to hit 100 today.

We don't have any set plans for this week. I think it is hard to do that with the weather. We know a few things that we'd like to do, but I don't think that any travel is involved. I enjoy the break from work. I wish that we could travel, but it is not in the cards for right now.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin'

Yesterday was busy busy: unpacking camping junk from car and putting away or cleaning or drying out, and there's still more of that to do. DB stopped by on his way from CT to NH to pick up my DS's inversion table to see if it helps his spinal stenosis, and we visited awhile. And in between EX called to tell me her sister is in a psych ER waiting for an inpatient bed. I think I'm going back to the Maine woods with the man-eating deer where it's peaceful and quiet.

Getting into 90's here next several days; I will try to get up and out very early to walk or hike or bike, and lay low indoors in the afternoons. Steve, stay safe in that 100º temperatures.

Unpacking, replenishing camping supplies and catching up on piano lessons today.

    BE OP, men.

    Good Morning,
Usual HOT and HUMID, say it will continue into late August, welcome to summer in south
Leg still has heat in it but is looking better
Time to plant second round because tomatoes are beginning to get leggy, can't find plants anywhere guess I'll have to root suckers.
In addition to deer the rabbits have reappeared
carcasses attract buzzards and their stench really carries
Stay out of heat and enjoy the day

    Good morning gentlemen.

Rita and I are suffering through a miserable summer cold together. Our first colds since 2019. She is worse than I. Too bad we're under the weather, because it's beautiful outside: 84 and sunny, today.

My favorite staycations were all about projects. I took a week off and built a 12 X 12 deck on the back of our house in Indiana, in 1990. Took a week off and built 7-drawer Shaker-style chest of drawers for my son in 1995 (still in use by his kids, now). Of course, those weeks, though memorable for me, didn't offer much to the rest of the family, other than the benefit of the end products.

    Good Morning

Things continue to be warmer than expected here. Somehow it always ends up in the upper 90s. Yesterday turned out to not be a great day. My back never came around. After a grocery run, I tried some stretching which didn't help as much as it was uncomfortable. I took some Tramadol in the evening and shut it down. A bit better today so I will keep working on it and try to get some things done around here. I will bang on my dulcimer and do some reading if I can get comfortable enough.
