    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • Other than being sleep deprived things are going well.
    • This evening we are having dinner at the Legion Post in Greenbelt, MD and then touring the National Mall. It is always something to see these 17 year olds visiting the Vietanm Wall with Vietnam Vets.
    • I shared the picture of the new Chief with my teammates and they all send their congrats.

    Thank you Dennis. Thanks to everyone. We just pray that all he ever has to be is a show of force. I do live a bit vicariously through his life and exploits. I mean, how cool would it be to fly a bird like that?
    The Wall should be a very sobering experience. Such a powerful monument for so many reasons.
    Still hot and humid. Good tomato and pepper plant weather.
    Going to take the girls out on the boat for a fun swim.

    Good morning BBB friends,

    Rita had a quiet birthday. We did go out for supper and walked around downtown Olympia for a bit.

    DS brought over a sampling from a new local pastry shop. Authentically French, according to DS' friend from France. That place will be a real temptation in the future.

    Should be mid 80s, here, today, and 90s during the week. But our lousy cold, wet May and June left our tomatoes, peppers and eggplant so far behind that I don't know that we will get any crop at all. Our grape vine is going to be loaded with big bunches by September, though (if the racoons don't get them).

    Up early. Car (rental) washed. Gassed. Coffee from Wawa. Headed now to get beard trim and home for some pool time.

    Dennis - so proud that you get to model/mentor the patriots of tomorrow. Have fun today (stay hydrated) - today is HEAT ADVISORIES. Tucker and I will make sure we save room at the coolest part of the pool for you!

    Doc - agree. Lets hope its never necessary while he prepares to be that forceful insurance policy! Where will his next assignment be? CONUS? OCONUS? Hows mom feel about DS flying a war machine?

    Morning BBB

    Heat finally broke in Arizona. Forecasted highs only about 100 all week vs the 110-115 of last week. Plus some clouds.

    Final day of the Tour de France. It’s been nice to have cable so we can see the whole ride instead of just highlights.

    Yesterday was a shopping day because Cecilia hates me. We stopped at a new bakery near us and sampled their products which weren't good enough to finish IMO, let alone spend a pile of points on.

    Dr Nelson (DW) and I were more nervous when he was driving a mine sweeper in Afghanistan. The kid is a real adrenaline junkie. Helps him focus.
    We are hoping CONUS and for grandkids.

    Its actually REALLY good. And their coffee station (serve yourself) is beyond clean! I wish we had a WaWa closer to me. That one I see on Sunday mornings usually when I head to get beard trim - but its 12 miles out of the way for me to get there.
