Just diagnosed PCOS

Hi all, I've recently got the PCOS diagnosis, two years after myself and my husband began trying. I've been prescribed Metformin which I will start taking today - I've been told I need to lose around 2.5 stone to qualify for the next medication, and a scary 4 stone to qualify for IVF (although they said that there are plenty of routes to try before getting to the IVF stage...) I'm just wondering how everyone is finding the weightloss effects of Metformin? I feel like I've tried everything, walked 15k steps, been in a calorie deficit. I even bought a year subscription to Team RH to lose weight, it's so disheartening to really really try and see minimal results. I'm looking for support so please feel free to add as a friend...

Hi, I have never tried Metformin, but I also have PCOS and I really believe that the 5th round of IUI that finally worked for me (after months of other fertility treatments) was due to the fact that I started low carb diet and cinnamon supplement (which mimics Metformin according to my endocrinologist and should not be taken when pregnant) the month prior. That fertilized egg is now a 3-year old. :-D I'm now starting the low carb journey again and lost 10 lbs the first week (mainly water weight and weight loss will slow down, but still...) Just want to wish you luck.
