Hazy overcast morning. Canoeing with a friend in a few hours.
Trying to show my camping videos on my old TV--eventually had to create a DVD and play that, but now some of the scenes are sideways and a few even upside down. Wonders of technology...
Have a good day.0 -
Good Morning,
Mike, for watching DVD do you remember how to do a cartwheel or handstands; great exercise if it does not kill you.
Continues Hot and HUMID typical southern August day,
Hope Dave is feeling better
How's closeout going Steve?

Good morning!
Just getting back to the office after a dental cleaning. This was one of the easiest cleanings that I have had yet! Maybe I'm starting to get it right after 62 years.
Mike, we have a lot of old 8mm tapes, VHS tapes, DVDs, etc that we need to sort through. Some of these have pictures of Jacob, and our parents who are all gone. I have off and on looked at machines that will take these old tapes and put them in digital format. My laptop doesn't even have a CD drawer on it. We still have some of our old VHS equipment, so we can play back on that. I just have not found the time to play with this. Perhaps it will have to continue to wait until I'm retired.
I don't know about the rest of you, but we are voting today. Kansas even made the national news with the vote on a constitutional amendment for abortion. I guess Kansas is the first to vote on this since Roe v. Wade. We also have a friend that is running for state Attorney General. That's fun. He is the former MADD national chairperson. The national president is always a mother, but the board of directors is different. He is a former cop from Lawrence, Kansas who was hit by a drunk driver while he was at a traffic stop. He was injured badly and had to retire from the force. He went to law school, and now is a successful attorney.
Well, I should probably get some work done.
Have a great day!

Good morning gentlemen.
Trying to type with a dog draped across my arm is a challenge.
Feel like death warmed over this morning. Have I mentioned I hate having a cold?
DS gave me a Chrome Cast module a couple years ago. It makes it easy to show photos or videos on the TV. It's also the only way we can watch Netflix, since our "smart" TV is so old the service no longer is supported.
Didn't do anything on the phone front, yesterday, as I felt kind of rotten. Maybe today. I also have to mow the lawn, no matter how I feel. It is getting really long.0 -
Gosh I leave you guys alone for a couple of days and my oh my the stuff that comes your way.
Dave: glad to hear your back spasm seems to be a bit better. Sorry to hear about the ridiculous ATT phone buying issues. sorry about your cold and perhaps sleeping on the couch.
Mike: I am glad your EKG looks pretty good and that you are going canoeing.
Bill: Hope your pains stay at bay. Glad you got to go to Point Reyes. In college I got to spend a summer at Dillon Beach Univ. of Pacific Marine Station. We went to Point Reyes many times and always loved it.
Like Steve I had a great teeth cleaning yesterday and apparently have been doing better on my end.
Sadly I would like to add that (perhaps because of the rush to unmask in schools and colleges) my grandson now has a long term covid dx. The drs said it is possible it might last upwards of a year. We are hoping it doesn't last that long.

Not sure why my edit add on didn't take.
Sadly my grandson (22y/o) now has long term COVID (drs say for maybe up to a year?). He is mad because he attributes it to relaxing the mask mandates in schools and colleges. He did some substitute teaching and did the best he could with masking etc but got it. He is probably using albuterol once a day for breathing issues.0 -
Good Morning
Bob, I am so sorry to hear about your grandson. We still wear our masks in many situations but schools are particularly prone. My wife's Montessori Preschool has had 3 confirmed cases in students in the last 7 days and yesterday she sent a child home who started coughing and had a fever. Masks are more effective at preventing the spread to others than they are in protecting us from the carelessness of others. I hope his road through this is shorter than expected.
I managed to get a good hill walk in yesterday and some gentle stretching in. I will go easy today but walk and continue to stretch. I also moved more boxes out of storage so today I am a tad stiff and will need to coax my back into a happier place. I suppose I should schedule a dental appointment after I find a new dentist under my wife insurance which changed. I keep putting it off.0
