    Rise n shine.

Worked yesterday on making a homemade third seat for my canoe. Clamps onto the gunwales, can use when I paddle alone, so the boat is more balanced, or when taking on kiddos when there's two adults. Easier to paddle in wind if seated more towards the middle.

Gas leak story? I remember an old house in the city that an old man lived in. Bad smell, neighbors complained, till one day he went down into the basement and turned on the light - KABOOM! Blew out all the windows and the porch fell right off the house. He, somehow miraculously, lived to tell about it. He moved into assisted living after that, so I heard.

Dave, hope your DW is okay, and you, too. Prayers for you both.

The state had severe T-storms all evening and my weather radio kept alerting me, but we somehow only got heavy rain and distant thunder for an hour. This morning there's beautiful sunshine and it was 54º at dawn.

    Good morning, gentlemen.

Bill, if it were me, I'd go through all the steps of replacing lost documents, then find the originals.

DS received his PCR Covid test results in 24 hours (Positive, sadly), so we might have our results today.

While waiting, I'll take Sassy on a long walk, this morning. Near perfect walking weather: cool, calm, and partly cloudy.

    Good Morning

4 days ago it was quite warm to walk at 7 am. Today it was a heavy long sleeve tee shirt morning at 59 degrees. A huge marine layer of low clouds had climbed over the ridgeline and the rising sun lit the top of them gloriously. It has been a while since we have seen the marine layer come over the hills. It gave hope that our long summer of discontent and high temps is beginning to end. Today is my car day as we convert back to being a one-car family after 20 years. I will take Heather to work later and then run my errands including swinging by the smog place to see if they can reprint my failed smog test otherwise I will have to sneak my car over for a retest. My back is a bit stiff from cleaning the bathroom and shower yesterday but this morning's walk seems to have helped. The redhead took me on some hills at a good clip. I was a little slow heading up but overall pace was not too bad for me and my knee settled down afterward. Prayers continue for Rita, Dave, and the family.

    Good afternoon!

We thought that we would be replacing all of the gas pipe in the house today. The HVAC company sent an older plumber out today. He did water tests on all of the fitting joints. He found two leaks, fixed those, and now the pipes pass pressure testing. The gas company has been called to come turn the gas back on. We are a total of just over $900 lighter in the wallet, but still have a whole house, and will maybe have less headaches from gas leaking that we didn't know about.

Bill, hang in there with the paperwork, and with the pain management.

Connie is speaking for MADD tonight. I will either go with her, or be waiting at home for the gas company to show up.

    Cold showers suck.

    Have a great evening!
