Lots of good college and pro football this weekend. Having a DGS playing must be pretty special.
So good to hear Rita and Steve are on the mend. Hoping Heather is better today.
Yes, Lucy has been making a good showing in the puppy stakes. Sadly, Babe actually had a good first and second series in the big dog trial yesterday and am still scratching my head on why she wasn't called back to the third for final consideration. Oh well, gave me a jump start on the long drive home.
Be OP ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
Sorry for the disappointment, Lee. Any competition requiring judging can lead to puzzling results, at times, I think.
I have to have Sassy at the vet at 7:30 this morning. She is being spayed today. They'll keep her overnight for observation and, if all is well, we'll pick her up tomorrow.
Rita was out in the garden again, yesterday, and harvested the younger stalks of rhubarb. She baked a couple strawberry-rhubarb pies last night. I took one over to our DS' house, the other will be retarding my weight loss here. She makes an incredible pie crust, and rhubarb is my favorite filling.0 -
Good morning!
I hope that all goes well with Sassy. I have not had strawberry-rhubarb pie in years. Very good!
Back to work today with way too much on my plate. I was busy before, but now having to cover Serena's desk and not knowing exactly where/what she had going on. It takes me longer as I rarely do some of these things.
They are projecting temps today of 100 and 101 tomorrow. Yesterday at one point the temp was 96 with 106 feels like. Dew point was 73. That is July weather, not mid-September weather.
I did some yard work yesterday. I am still feeling the affects of COVID. I feel better but I am much weaker. I need to take frequent breaks.
I watched part of the queen's funeral this morning. Very moving.
Have a great day!0 -
Good Morning
Lee, I am sure Tess is smiling down on Babe & Lucy.
Heather is still under the weather, a stomach virus possibly, and will be home on the couch today. I will keep her company but I will sit in a wooden upright chair. 2 days of sitting most of the day in an easy-chair, even with firm Yoga bolsters, has made a mess of my lumbar area. We had some actual rain yesterday. Just some short stretches of gentle rain. I went out to welcome it back, and let it know how much we hoped it would stay and visit with us often this fall & winter. Rain of any amount in September is unusual but we don't have a usual anymore. Still wet out there. We will get barely measurable rain today. The sky has wonderful clouds and it is cool and damp. I love it. I never understood eating rhubarb. It doesn't look like anything I would want to eat, like celery that has gone wrong in life. But I on The Great British Baking Show it makes frequent appearances. I am watching some of the Queen's funeral pageantry before heading into Morning Prayer. It is really quite remarkable.
Thinking of Sassy and Dave today. Hang in there Dave, you'll have her back soon by your side. I am glad to here Rita is out in her garden and kitchen again.
