I agree, Dave. I wish I had Sam's drive and energy.
I hope Mike packed his ice fishing clothes. It is cold here in CT, I can't imagine what it may be like up in moose land.
How's the new assistant, Steve?
We have a visiting DVM from corporate this week. She is a nice kid. A little naive but extremely compassionate about the people under her supervision. She has had two DVMs from practice acquisitions actually die on her in the last year, plus a couple having to retire prematurely due to health reasons. She made it a priority to talk to me about how I was feeling. DVMs for hire are scarce and I am the driving force of the our practice. We also have a new DVM starting full time this week. Originally form Arizona. Nice young lady.

Goode morning gentlemen.
I am finally getting out for a hike, today. Cloudy in the Cascades, so I will just do a forest hike over in the Olympics. It will be restorative, even without big views.
Great news, yesterday. I got a call from the Army hospital, telling me that they have a new glaucoma specialist. I have an appointment in a month to see him. I am much happier staying in the military realm, where I am comfortable.0 -

I could have sworn that I logged in yesterday.
I sat down and had a long talk with the new assistant. I also stepped back a little on her training, a bit of a do-over. I think that she will end up being ok.
We could see the first frost of the season this weekend.
I have a bit of a cough yet, and some thin congestion, but I am starting to feel stronger again. COVID sucks.

Glad you have an appointment w a glaucoma specialist Dave. Always good to keep on top of eye pressure issues. Glad Dave is getting in a good hike too.
Wonky fall weather here but not close to frost. Hi today in 70s and back into 80s by Wed. Lows in the 50s and down to 52deg this a.m.
My flu and covid shot went ok yesterday and so far just usual minimal arm pains.0 -

Lee, it sounds like your leadership in the practice is still very much needed and in demand.
I have my stress echo test this afternoon. I skipped walking this morning to give my knee a break so it would be ready for the treadmill. I just need to hang in there long enough to get the heart rate up and then somehow hobble over to the table and hop up there. It might make a good YouTube video! I will be working on my back a bit as well to enhance my hopping-up abilities. I baked a coffee cake late last night at my wife's request after I told her I had seen a recipe that looked interesting, This New Yorker grew up on coffee cake. I can't eat it beyond testing it a bit. But it brings back warm memories.0 -
