As u can see above my list of goals for Oct is pretty long I am going to give it a few days and if I'm not able to meet them I will downsize my list. Xox

I took a look and thought it was pretty aggressive, but great goals focused on self love. Good luck!!

@bradcrew Yeah I will see how it goes, so far so good but only time will tell! Thanks xox

@MadisonMolly2017 why do u think 2 lists will help? Xo

@MadisonMolly2017 why do u think 2 lists will help? Xo

One would be high priority (health related etc)

One would be for noncritical intentions (decluttering, etc.)

    High priority for me:
    Weigh & Track all food
    Walk/Hike/Supernatural VR exercise
    Protein at Nephrologist target
    Sat Fat at Cardiologist’s target
    No processed foods per Gastroenterologist
    Weigh myself daily

    Intentions
    Sleep 7 hours
    Call a friend
Eat no more than 4 times
Eat between 10:30 AM & 8:30 pm and lightly if I eat after dinner.)
    Create/Make art in some way
Get out in nature each day
Learn something of interest each day
    Relax with my husband

You’re preaching to the converted. 😂 Walking is one of my solid habits. I walk indoors and out (depending on weather). I use walking videos, and get additional strength exercises in many of them. And I walk during ad breaks when watching TV. It all adds up!

I have daily steps, and active hours goals set on my Fitbit, with alarms set 15 minutes before the hour every 2 hours so that I can have at least a 10 minute walk.

Well, I have definitely taken my sweet time 'walking' back to the Habits group this month.

I've peeked in a few times during the last several months, well, actually it has been since my last post the end of June. I just couldn't find enough of whatever it might be needed to peek in, or when I did to actually post. On those days I had comments written out in my head, but I just couldn't quite get them out and down here.

Thank you @themedalist and @MadisonMolly2017 for continuing this group.

July through September was an especially rough patch for me. It is interesting because tonight when I went back to those months in both this Habit group, as well as the Walking group I belong to, I actually discovered how long it had been going on (only because I checked both groups and could see the reality) that I had posted in neither group from June-September, except to get the monthly Walking group I belong to started for each month of those months. I knew that it was happening, but not the full scope of it.

I was very happy to find that this is "Walktober" month here because I had been doing my best to walk and post this month on the Walk group, and to force myself to be intentional to walk a bit more again. I had become a "walker", both indoors with WAH DVDs and outdoors, for a little over12 years since since joining MFP. Just before the pandemic broke out I had been diagnosed with arthritis being the cause of my severe ankle pain that was making it very difficult to walk let alone exercise. I learned a lot about arthritis and did my best, even though I was continuing to exercise and walk, although much, much less than I used to.
This is part of what I wrote this month in the Walking group: "This month my goal is to ....challenge myself to increase my overall activity again, especially so that I can kick discouragement to the curb by being intentional in this... and feel healthy and be more active again.
I'm practically starting over again since it has been different and difficult for almost three years now, with the last several months seeming to be the most discouraging and difficult over all..."

I just wanted to share what has been going on with me because I wanted to get back here also.

Now that the weather is suddenly starting to drop out of the what seemed to be the forever dry triple digit days during this long summer I am feeling more encouraged to find my optimistic self again.

    first week:
October 1: 45 minutes: walking indoors, gazelle, rebounder
    October 2: Sunday rest day
October 3: 45 minutes: outside walking, yard work
October 4: 90 minutes: walking portion of errands, shopping, and walking indoors
October 5: 65 minutes: yard work and walking indoors
    October 6: 45 minutes: walking & errands
October 7: 45 minutes: outside walking, clean porch
    October 8: 35 minutes: walking indoors-lighter day

    second week:
    October 9: Sunday rest day
October 10: 45 minutes: outside walking, light yard work
October 11: 60 minutes: walking indoors, gazelle, rebounder
October 12: 40 minutes: outside walking
October 13: 40 minutes: walking indoors, gazelle
October 14: 45 minutes: walking indoors, gazelle
October 15: my plan is for a lighter day, including housework and catching up on my tasks... I've been hurting so its either time for me to ease up a bit again, or maybe the weather might finely be going to change and perhaps actually rain or cool down some 🤔 (hopeful face) in a few days (as the weather app suggests).

    Have a fun weekend 🦋.

Hi @texasgardnr ! Great to see you back! Here’s a favorite walk of mine - well, actually dancing. Last weekend, my sister visited and we attended a ball. I’m in the pink dress in the first set and my sister is in blue in the set behind me.

Thank you @MadisonMolly2017 for your encouraging words. I am so glad that you are also back after your rough patch during May through mid-Sept. Those several months of slump are quite rough, especially because they somehow sneak up on us (me). Awesome hike that you acomplished!! Well done!

Thank you @77tes! I am also happy to be back again. Wow, that is a special picture with both you and your sister!! That is wonderful that she came to visit you. Did you make your beautiful dress and matching mask? I'm guessing so because you like to sew ☺️. Does your sister sew also? I can't remember if she has sewn her dresses in the past.

    third week, so far:

    October 16: Sunday rest day
October 17: 50 minutes: walking indoors, gazelle (it rained!!)
October 18: 50 minutes: yard work (instead of walking)

Walking is just what I do. Every day! Indoors or outdoors. I take every opportunity to do NEAT exercise.
    (75/100)
You’re preaching to the converted. 😂 Walking is one of my solid habits. I walk indoors and out (depending on weather). I use walking videos, and get additional strength exercises in many of them. And I walk during ad breaks when watching TV. It all adds up!

I have daily steps, and active hours goals set on my Fitbit, with alarms set 15 minutes before the hour every 2 hours so that I can have at least a 10 minute walk.

    Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

@bradkcrew I hear you loud and clear!! It’s not for a lack of exercise on my part but keeping my hand out of the Halloween candy jar on the kitchen island. Chocolate is my downfall no matter how hard I try if it was full of candy corn I would leave it alone! Trying to right this slippery slope. Glad you are back on track track with walking it’s important to stay focused.

@snowshoe072 Halloween candy is tough! I try to buy it just before the day to put off temptation. We hardly get any trick or treaters, so I would like to eliminate it altogether, but I don’t want the reputation of the cranky old woman who hates kids. Lol!

@texasgardnr , yes my sister and I did make our dresses for the ball. She more of a seamstress than I. She quilts and the whole nine yards.

Plugging away at my FALL IN LOVE WITH FITNESS challenge. The weather has cooled HOORAY! Unfortunately, this week I struggled with a headache.

    Hi @donna25trinity
Sometimes I modify my habits during the month if I was too ambitious (or not ambitious enough.)

Make your habit list workable for you!

    1. My intention for October (This October I will...")
For October, I am endeavouring to reduce my tendency to fall through the bunny hole of mindless scrolling on the internet. I have been working on this for the last week.
    Daily 🐝 or 🐰
    🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
    🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

(Using ‘am’ as opposed to ‘I will … ‘ as it gives me less scope to cop out.
    2. The small actions I am taking to accomplish this goal
    a) Change my screen saver to a reminder.
    b) Be conscious of what I went on line to do
    3. The trigger or cue to remember to do my habit.
    Reminder on phone.
    4. How often am I doing my new October habit (daily is best if possible)
    5. What reward am I immediately giving myself for doing my habit?
    I am doing a victory 💃🏼 and 🐝
    6. What help do you need from us?
Click “Like” or any of the feedback responses so I know you are reading? Having this place to report in every few days and knowing someone else is reading is really helpful.
    7. What does success look like to you at the end of October?
    My internet time reduced
I have moved my September paper declutter habit to my Solid Habits list
    Nothing feels
