    Good morning!

I spent $3,600 for my single hearing aid in my left ear. Connie spent $6,200 for both of hers. You can get hearing aids with blue tooth, and all kinds of fun stuff, mine do not have that. One thing that mine does have, however, is a button that I can press and it seems to block out all of the background noise in a noisy environment such as a restaurant. I can hear the people at our table, and not hear the people at the table behind us. I also get regular free adjustments and cleaning. When it comes time to replace this one, I don't know if I will go back to Miracle Ear, or go OTC.

Although we received 1.3 inches of rain the other day, we are still very dry. Not as bad as the western US, but we are considered to be in a severe drought. That was the first rain of more than an inch since August, and we are still 10 inches behind since the first of July. The trees here are pretty stressed.

I terminated the employment of our new assistant Tisha yesterday. She was just not getting settled in, and I was not ready to settle for less than the right person. So, we look at another person from the agency.

Maybe I should purchase a Powerball ticket today and see if I can retire early.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

For here, yesterday was a heavy rain day. We got about 1/4 inch. Those Midwest gully washers are associated with thunderstorms. I recall 3 inches in half an hour, in Texas.

My hearing aids have Bluetooth connection to my phone. There is an app that you can adjust for restaurants, concerts and other venues. I installed the app but haven't used it. My only real issue is that I can't keep the darned things in my ears.

Dentist appointment this morning. Just the semi-annual cleaning and exam. After that we'll pick up a lottery ticket and then run some errands. Should be dry enough this afternoon, to take Sassy on a nice walk.

    Good morning.

Getting my RAV4 rustproofed (a sticky oil spray) tomorrow. It's 11 years old, though only 98K miles and runs like a charm, but New England road salt is brutal. Have to leave it there for the day somehow; two towns away; maybe I can go canoeing all day or something while it's getting treated.

My biggest hearing issue is really how annoying tinnitus can sometimes be, especially when I'm in a quiet place. On top of a mountain, enjoying the stillness, and then hearing that ultra-high pitch, never ending squeal. No cure for it yet... I keep hoping. Read that they now think it's not really a hearing issue or ear problem, but a brain thing.

Steve, good move with the assistant. Working with the State it was almost impossible to fire someone, and we'd end up with mediocre incompetent people who dragged the whole operation down. There were also others who did great work, so I do not denigrate state workers in general.

    Coffee is waiting...

    Good Morning,
I stopped having tinnitus when I started wearing hearing aids, now it seems to have returned since I have not used hearing aids for a couple weeks. Chemical peel will affect plastic.
    Off to yoga

    Good Morning

Steve, I am sorry the *kitten*’t didn’t work out.

I do find tinnitus annoying. I miss the silence. I still practice the discipline of sitting in silence before the Lord. But it is a noisy silence.

Pain Drs office told me yesterday that they would be reluctant to perform an epidural until the cardiologist finishes his tests and determines if I am at risk. I was not happy since that will take 6-7 weeks. They decided, much to my surprise, to authorize a large supply of pain killers for the day and muscle relaxer for the night. In theory they re going to discuss the situation today. I found the situation a bit challenging but by God’s grace stayed calm. We are now cable free and just streaming. So now thanks to the meds I am in a bit less pain and am able to doze off a lot easier while streaming shows. I am saving about $140 a month.
