Good morning!
Back to work today. This will be a short, but busy week. Physical inventory and year-end prep.
I do get the see the chiropractor today. She was sick last week. I really need to see her.
Connie's friend's son ended up passing. It has been a tough weekend.
Bill, I'm glad that you got your plumbing fixed. I'm really glad that you are seeing some rain. I hope that the terrible drought that has been in the West is starting to ease up. I pray now that you start feeling better.
We are supposed to start seeing warmer temps and rain by the weekend. We have not had temps above freezing for a week now. The forecast is for 60 on Thursday.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Meant to post yesterday and got distracted. Read posts after I left roll call yesterday this morning.
Prayers for Connie and her friend. So sorry about her fiend's boy.
Prayers for Mike's DD's friend's family and friends.
Prayers for those trapped and hungry in Buffalo area.
Prayers for Bill's breathing.
Prayers for all those in need.
Christmas late brunch was successful. I did take a tramadol that morning due to a fall I took on snow covered ice patch while bird hunting the day before. One reason that gun safety is paramount even when it is just you and your dog. I had the gun open and unloaded as we were walking back to the truck along a path and I was down before I knew it. Gun was underneath me on the ground. Still a little sore.
I did discover that adding a little bourbon to my eggnog was very nice, but in combination with the 50mg of tramadol, made me very sleepy.
The Northeast is seeing a bit of a warming trend as well over the next 10 days, but I do not think we will see 60 degrees.
Be OP ;-)

Morning.
Didn't get much done yesterday. Finished DS's GF's apple pie (2 slices) she sent me home with on Christmas and broke into pumpkin bread a woman gave out at the Bible study last week. I should just smile and say thank you, then drop these things in the dumpster on my way home. I still have quite a few presents to drop off.
Steve, that's a tough blow, having friends lose a son the same way as you guys did, especially at a time like Christmas. I'll pray for peace in your wife and in their home as well.
Jeez Lee, glad yer gun warnt loaded. You'd need more than a little pain killer. Seriously, gun safety is something hunters all (hopefully) learn, and maybe we'd all be safer if every family had a hunter. IMHO.
Bill, hope you have a safe recovery from COVID. And your sink calamity gets repaired okay.

Good morning gentlemen.
Woke up, put my hearing aids in - and one of them won't work. Frustratingly, the bad one is for my poorer ear. Guess I'll have to call the VA. At least I am only marginal for hearing aids, but I have grown used to them.
Physical therapy appointment this morning. The hip they are seeing me about hasn't been bothering me, at all. That is mostly because I have been sedentary most of the time - a product of our lousy weather. I did get in a 3.4-mile walk between rainstorms, yesterday. The right hip/glute started to ache after 2 miles, so I'll do the appointment.
Forecast for today is heavy rain with high winds - 30 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 - this afternoon. Widespread power outages are expected. Oh joy!0 -
Good Morning
A child lost is brutal enough, but at Christmastime...so scarring. Praying for this dear family.
A good day yesterday. I tested negative which after 6 days brings me out of self isolation, though careful. The plumber showed up 2 hours early, some confusion on the time it seems and left some 3 hours later after a complete rebuild from the drain junction out. He showed me some previous damage to the pipe that explained the snap as well as a questionable repair inside the wall. He did 2 surge tests on the new drain system before he left. Basic dry wall repair done too. I finished things off by sleeping in my bed which was glorious. Lots of rain last night and wrapping up today. We get a day off for it to work through our clay soil before it returns. Nothing planned today except some easy cleaning and perhaps getting started on wrapping Xmas gifts.0 -
So sorry to hear about Connie's friends son passing. Very tough.
Rain? Rain? we can send anyone rain who needs it. We got 2.6" of rain yesterday which is a lot for us in PDX w some local streets closed with flooding and trails flooded too.
In the mid 50s here which is 10 degrees above the usual for this time of year.
Sorry to hear about your hearing aid Dave. Usually it is just the dome and the "wax guard/filter" that need changing. I do that myself when it gets plugged up.
Bill: glad you found a competent plumber who fixed the problem.
Stay warm and safe all. And don't fall on your shotguns.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Reckon DSIL had all she could stand from DMIL, she showed backup here about 11, with DN saying she felt sorry for DSIL; what about us we put up with her 99% of time.
Sleet and snow overnight, melting as sun hits, warming into 50's today with lows in 50's by weekend and rain Saturday and Sunday. High's near 70.
Detactified house this morning, need to carry bunch of junk to Goodwill for DMIL; if mine it would go to dump.
Glad you are better Bill,
It is always hard to see a child pass; we feel we should go first; but need to realize God is in control0
