I have decided to get off my high horse and stop having a pity party so I will be working out on my home gym for the 1st time since getting injured back in October of 2022... I will not be standing obviously but I can do it sitting down ...my plan is for 45 minutes ...I only did my home gym for 30 minutes ...its better than nothing

Enjoy your holiday. Be mindful of your food choices and move as much as possible but above everything have fun and relax.
I was struck this morning by the good advice in those few words, whether going on a (fantastic) vacation or not! Find ways to enjoy what you are doing - joy does not require food. Perhaps I am often just a bit lazy and substitute a snack, rather than making my everyday moments yield their joy. And I like "be mindful of your food choices" - not enslaved, paralyzed, humiliated by, or obsessed with them. Too often I have swung between the above and complete disregard for what I am eating.

So, today, in a long list of to-do's, I will try to be both mindful and joy-seeking. Thank you, @lindamtuck2018, for the good reminder. And @torih941, have a great time!! :)

Thank you! Both @RoblinB and @lindamtuck2018 for the words. You're right. I'm the one in control so I get to make the choices. I'll choose to enjoy myself and be mindful at the same time. Even this week leading up to it I was somewhat dreading work, but I am going to instead choose to be grateful and look forward to my days. Joy seeking :)

@RoblinB and @lindamtuck2018 Great reminders. Be mindful in all we do. My schedule has been given away to others this week. I need to be more mindful with food, time, resources, energy, schedule, etc. and seek joy through all of it. I needed this reminder. Thanks.

@Megan_smartiepants1970 Good job getting started. Don't push too hard, too quickly. A year is a long time. Build up slowly with purpose.

@torih941Great mind shift. Enjoy your trip and prep time. We want to hear all about it when you get back.

Great job. Check out YouTube for seated exercises. I have done some yoga, stretches, strength training and others.

I am off to do some running around and then go to physio. Going to get a couple of walks done throughout the day. I have a potluck tonight. I will be careful with portions and I am staying away from the desserts.

Hi Linda, is there any chance I could please change my weight in day to Thursday? I start a program this week and I have to weigh every Thursday anyway so wouldn't mind doing it the same day ❤️

Wow! Do I ever work a desk job! Feeling pleased about a long but reasonably productive work-from-home day yesterday, I checked my steps at about 9:00 p.m.

    Only 475!! :s

    Clearly, I am part sloth!

A very long walk around the neighbourhood followed by lots of circles inside my house gave my pedometer renewed purpose and a step count of 7000+, but I can certainly see how my natural tendencies have gotten me to where I am!

Here's to ongoing change! (And I did get those steps earlier today!)
