And just like that... it's a new day, a new month, and a new year!

Happy New Year! May 2024 be filled with good health and happiness for you and your family. Just imagine what we can all accomplish this year! I'm sure we will be celebrating a lot of healthy new habits this year. If you are joining us for the first time, a very warm welcome! We are glad you are here. Let us know what your goal is for this month and how we can help. And just a suggestion: set a reminder to check-in periodically with us. Check-in daily, weekly, or as often as works for you, but let us know how you are progressing! We're here to support and encourage you, but if you don't post, we can't cheer you on!

And if you're joining us midway through the month, no need to wait until February. Begin now and you'll be that much closer to achieving your goal. If you're looking for ideas, our list of previous challenges may come in handy.

Let's hear what you'll be prioritizing this month!

Try to frame your goal along these lines:

1. My goal for this month (This January I will...")
2. The small actions I’ll be taking to accomplish this goal
3. The trigger or cue to remember to do my habit
4. How often will you do your new habit (daily is best if possible)
5. What reward will you immediately give yourself for doing your habit? (Small positive feedbacks such as a fist pump, saying "I'm awesome", or a star/check mark on your calendar help cement the habit you are trying to build.)
6. What help do you need from us?
7. What does success look like to you at the end of January?

Let's do this! Let's make 2024 an outstanding year!

Not quite sure of my January plan I do have plans to do outdoor walking as long as weather isn’t to cold/bad. Try to return to a consistent spin pattern and eat healthy.
My actions get outside at lunch think about healthy foods try some new ideas
Will try for 3-4 times a week
My award is knowing I accomplished my goal what I need from you ask me every now and then and that’s what January looks like for me.

This January I will track what I eat.
    Everything.
I will set a reminder on my phone to do it at the end of the day every day and also include how I felt that day.

I’m a little frustrated that I can’t hit the ground running at the new year, but I KNOW (yelling at myself) that taking time to recuperate IS my true priority. I’m enjoying reading Rethink Your Position - I try to do lots of the stretches she recommends as I read. Right now I’m sitting on the floor to write this.

This month I will spend time outside every day. I’m going for at least 15 minutes per day, but hope to get more. Fortunately, we’ve had glorious weather even on rainy days,

    January 1 42 minutes
    January 2 36 minutes
January 3 34 minutes - first yoga routine of the year.
    January 4 1 hour 2 minutes

@diane1223 , eliminating evening/nighttime snacking is a great goal! Years ago a dental hygienist suggested flossing and brushing right after dinner. Let me know if it helps.

@stinabean83 and @FionaM2024 Great plan! Tracking everything is such a foundational habit. Give yourself a fist pump or a pat on your back every single time you log a meal or snack - there’s no such thing as too much celebrating successes - big or small.

@texasgardnr , it’s so good to see you back at it after such a difficult year. Here’s to some great walks and decluttering!

@snowshoe072 , I love the idea of lunchtime walks, so good for the body and mind!

It’s hard to believe that 2023 is over. I hope that everyone is ready to proceed through 2024 with renewed vigour.

I feel that I accomplished much in 2023. I set some new habits, and worked on consolidating others that have helped me so much in being authentic to my core beliefs. These Solid Habits are integral to my primary goal of staying as fit and healthy as I can.

Knowledge is power! Therefore, tracking and reviewing progress will continue to provide the data I need to continue to move forward into 2024.

I lost a friend on 23 Dec, one of my much younger cousins passed away over Christmas, and another on passed away on 4 Jan , so I am only too aware of the impermanence of life, and of making the most of each moment we are granted. Carpe diem!

    2023 REVIEW

🫶 Maintained in the middle of my optimal weight range
🫶 Took time for self care
🫶 Continued to adhere to Solid Habits

The companionship of you girls is a welcome part of my life. I may not post every day, but I always appreciate what we share.

    _Achieve 3 uac goals daily
    - with weight loss and health I need to stop trying to hve my cake and eat it to. It's either im honest about tracking or I'm not!
_Leave work on time to spend time with the loves of my life.
_ Walk , weights, stetch, skipping or boxing if I don't feel motivated to run.
    - daily gratitude and appreciation, no victim and no negative Nancy here!
    - Lunch break everyday!

Going well with my goals so far! Xo

Yay! You are so inspiring @TerriRichardson112 and @donna25trinity! But I think having my cake and eating it too should be a goal. 😉

This month I will spend time outside every day. I’m going for at least 15 minutes per day, but hope to get more. Fortunately, we’ve had glorious weather even on rainy days,

My going outside goal is going well, I have been averaging an hour a day. I’ve also been doing daily yoga since January 3.

Continuing to stick with my programme. We are having a spell of wintry weather, and this morning conditions outside are very icy because our roads aren’t being gritted as the drivers are in strike. Temperature is -3*C so planning to stay inside.

@77tes Sorry about your dog. They are so much part of our families. 🫶

    Hi Everyone!

I’ve been focusing on walking more this month indoors since walking outdoors in New England isn’t a good fit for me. My treadmill helps a lot, but I’m also surprised how many steps I can accumulate just by walking around my house.

It is nice to get a bit more sunshine. We’ve added 30 minutes of sunlight since Dec 21, now up to 9.5 hours/day (15 hours summer peak). Daily use of my happy light in the morning when I’m cycling and BitGyming makes a huge difference!

@77tes so sorry to hear about your beloved beagle. Dogs are family.

@donna25trinity, I also have daily morning gratitude, affirmations, and intention habits and they really help to have a better and more productive day! I also struggle with leaving work at a reasonable hour.

@snowshoe072, the lunchtime walks sound great! That’s something I’d like to implement in the spring when I can resume outdoor walking. Great idea!

@TerriRichardson112, solid habits are so important as they run on autopilot and they reinforce our perception of who we are. You are doing wonderfully!

@texasgardnr, always great to read your posts! Walking and decluttering are two wonderful habits to focus on for January!
