Wonderful photo of snow shoe hike, Mike. Inspiring!
Last day of January. Time marches on.
Gearing up for road trip to Grand Junction, Tennessee for 4 field trials in 4 days. Bird Dog Hall of Fame banquet as well. Kind of a bucket list event for a field trialer. Leaving Sunday the 4th and returning home late the 13th.
The Kumbaya Corporate meeting is same week I will be in Tennessee. The grand poobahs are not happy with me. I told my supervisor, a nice kid roughly half my age, that I was in the twilight of my career and I was going to do what I please and when I please with my PTO. When they have the meeting in the Keys so I can go fly fishing, I might attend again.
How big is Pablito going to get, Sam? I love raising puppies, they are so joyous.
Be OP ;-)

Good morning!
Lee, that sounds like an awesome trip. You also have the right idea about PTO. I need to adopt your attitude. Connie and I have not had a real vacation since 2019. Mostly because of COVID, but Connie is convinced that we cannot leave Frankie at home with Collin or in a kennel. I don't know why she thinks that, but she is consistent with her story. She says that Frankie won't survive the separation anxiety.
Work has been very busy and I am feeling my age. I fell asleep in my chair at 8:00 last night. I surly can't be from getting up at 4:00. Today, Frankie let me sleep until 5:00.
I drank 2200 ml of water yesterday in addition to coffee, Coke, etc. I made a BUNCH of trips to the men's room. I got my steps in for sure. I'm telling myself that I will feel better and that I am flushing out a ton of toxins from my body. We'll see how long this goes and if it does make a difference over time.
Remembering all of you in prayers. Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Good for you, Lee.
I got in a nice 3,5-mile walk with Sassy, yesterday. It's raining today, so I might give it a break. The guidelines the hospital gave me talked about gradually working my way up to a mile over eight weeks. Surgeon told me to let my body tell me how much to do. As it hasn't been hurting, I have walked farther. I am significantly slower than I used to be, but so it goes.
The weight loss continues, too. Yesterday I weighed in at 175, the lowest I've been in years. Sadly, the weight is distributed much differently than it was back then. More in the gut, far less in the major muscle groups. I need to get back into the gym to affect those proportions.0 -
Everybody needs a vacation… Lee, sounds like a wonderful time. Better out with the dogs than Kumbaya with the corporation. Inspires me do to more of whatever I please and forget the rest of it.
Piano class today.
Cold morning, in the teens. I’m hoping for more icefishing, but we need cold temps for a good while. After almost walking around on 2” of ice last week, I’m not keen about a repeat.
Got my workmate fitted with a small tabletop insert I made from scraps of wood I had, using the circular saw out on the balcony, with the rip fence attachment. And getting my place (finally) decluttered as I continue vacuuming the dust that went everywhere a few days ago. Feels good.
Parking lot is a mess after HOA plow broke down, wet snow froze.
Have a great day.0 -
Good Morning,
We were told he would not get more than 25 lbs, they may have lied. five and half months 13 lbs. He looks big but is all hair or fur. about 15 inches tall now hair goes up to 18 inches. Pablo was very upset with me yesterday because I took off his collar and put on a harness that is a little large, he does not like a harness but will pick one up a little smaller. They claim harness will prevent him from hurting neck and trachea.
I believe 3.5 is a little more than one, just saying; but believe we know our bodies better than doctors do.
I have two workmates, both old and very heavy; need to get them out and start painting boards before fence goes up when it will be much harder to paint.
I'm past meetings for anything, generally one is trying .to exert power over someone or trying to impress folks and very little gets accomplished; we are seeing this now in how we should proceed with building for church.

Good Morning
If I tried 2200ml plus coffee and soda it would not go well and my urologist would generate a psych consult for me. Wow.
Lee, how dare you take any PTO. Just because you are entitled to it doesn’t mean you can do it, Shame on you. It sounds like your young supervisor is swimming in the deep end without his floaties. Poor guy
Beautiful day yesterday. Heather and I went for a walk after my treatment and meeting with the Oncologist. I had to slow down a few times. My back can’t yet handle a sustained strong pace without pain. Good news is radiation continues to go well. I am “tolerating it” quite well, just some fatigue. A couple atmospheric rivers coming through this coming week starting today.0
