Cecilia made white chicken chili last night that was amazing, but gave me pretty bad heartburn, so I had a dessert of Tums and turned in early last night.

I hope your back holds up at the game, Skip. And that the new doc can plot a course going forward that will give you some relief.

I did make it into the shop, yesterday. I turned a sugar bowl, with a black walnut lid. Pretty little piece. I'll get back out again today. I am moving very carefully, to avoid causing problems with my recovery.

When the time comes to clear out my parents' house, my problem will be resisting the temptation to just move things from there to here. There is a carpenter's tool chest out in the garage, full of tools, that my grandfather built around the turn of the last century. I don't have a place to put it, but how can you get rid of something like that? My dad was incredibly skilled at everything he got interested in. He was curious about Native American culture, and there is a room full of authentic, drums, leather garb, beaded moccasins, and other paraphernalia that he made, along with historic pieces he acquired through the years. The grandkids call it the museum room. Once again, how do you get rid of that sort of thing? How about a giant box, full of Christmas tree ornaments my grandmother's family brought from Germany in the 1890s? Each piece carefully wrapped in the same fading tissue paper we re-used every year. The list goes on and on.

Hey friends. I was comfortable yesterday afternoon / evening but couldn't get out of bed again this morning. Fortunately I had drugs to take this time and crawled out of bed a couple of hours later. I guess I'll be sleeping in a chair for awhile. I won't be able to make my brother's funeral but I'm glad I wasn't out of state in a hotel when this happened. Kris is a Saint.
