Woke at 4 and remembered northern lights reports when I went to bed but was too cloudy to see anything. Clear sky, so I got up and drove away from street lights to a farm and pulled over. Pretty cool display, although not bright or spectacular, but visible low in NW sky near the big dipper. Watched for a good half hour until dawn took over.

Bill, hope they can help yer gut isssues... Sam, hope that knee repair is a good one. Toad misses you.

No heat here; chilly morning today, has been in 60's, maybe 70's most days. Our summers have been very typical, except excessive rain last few years, with one year of long drought.

I am going back to no sugar in morning coffee to start the day on the right foot. Plus just-say-no at Bible study coffee hour. Last week they had homemade pie, homemade lemon creme donuts, and homemade muffins. Urrrp.

    Have a good one.

    Good morning!

The contractor didn't finish the bath yesterday, so he will finish on Monday. The glass doors will be installed on Tuesday.

I interviewed five candidates yesterday. Two were very good. I also dealt with the owner and his personal CPA. She twice said that she was very disappointed in me leaving the company. She is in her mid 70s. She demanded that I have tax review stuff to her Monday as Jim's taxes are due Wednesday. Nobody told me until yesterday that they had a Wednesday tax deadline. I swear these people are trying to get me to leave earlier. I am ready to let them have their wishes. I gave them 2 months notice as a curtesy. I regret that now. Part of me says to really make them mad at me and announce that I'm leaving at the end of May. That's what Connie thinks that I should do. Collin has been working there now for about 3 weeks. He hates it and is looking for something else. This place isn't as bad as the last place that I worked at, but it is bad. I don't blame Collin this time. He does, however, need to find something else before just quitting. My social security won't start until July, but we have savings so if I do end up leaving early, we will be fine. I put my application in for social security on April 12 and I have not received a decision yet from SSA. They say 2-4 weeks, but I've been hearing 6-8 weeks.

Bill, Sam, Bob, prayers continue for each of you.

Lee, good luck this weekend with the pups!

    Have a great day.

    Good morning gentlemen.

The northern light forecast, for here was best between midnight and 3 a.m. No thank you. You want to see the aurora, head to Alaska in mid-winter. I've seen them soi bright you swear they cast a shadow.

Spent a couple hours with my chainsaw, yesterday, breaking down the three madrone logs I got from a friend, along with one big cherry crotch piece from the tree we cut down in December. Still need to get the pieces into bowl blanks and rough turn them. I also cleared three wheelbarrows full of scraps off the floor of my shop, where I have been trimming chunks with my electric chainsaw all winter.

DGS has soccer game this morning, then more work in the shop. Going to be pretty warm, for here, with a high in the 80s. I love it.

    Good Morning,
Must have forgotten to hit post earlier.
    Neighbor walking Pablo for me.
Knee more tender today but still not as hard to walk as before probe and repair.
How many months do you let the blanks rest before finishing?
I remember Saturday morning soccer games, about 40 years ago. Grands did not really get into soccer, DGD into track, youngest DGS into tennis golf and flag football oldest DGS prefers tech stuff.
Steve, do what you can and do not let them get to you; what are they going to do fire you? then you can file for unemployment. If they had a clue, they would be working with you instead of just demanding more.
I believe you all may have jinxed me with gut issues or its drugs they gave me.
    Prayers for Bob and Bill
Lee after judging enjoy the girls but DO NOT forget Mary is mother to your boys.

    Good Morning

I completely forgot about the northern lights. We would have needed to drive out of the valley into the hills where it is much darker. I had enjoyed some wine and was already tired so I would have passed anyway. Heather and I enjoyed an evening sipping wine, noshing (carefully) and seeing a film. We talked about doing more of this a couple years ago when we were wine tasting down at Hearst Ranch since I was drinking less and less beer. Our wine collection grew but I gave up most drinking since I was increasingly on opiods. It was a wonderfully relaxing evening, even if I only cautiously had a small half glass of 2 wines. Gut was OK with it and we will be back on our plan.

I have seen the northern lights in Oregon and Washington before but not spectacular and need dark skies.
Went for early ride today as it may approach 90deg again.
