45º this morning. Sun rises earlier than ever as we closer to the equinox.

Family is doing a hike this afternoon with DD Ann who's home from Hawaii (and Bali) for her DB's fiancee's bridal shower. We went for a walk yesterday and caught up on things. Brought me an XL Aloha teeshirt that's embarrassingly a little too small. Time to get serious about a diet plan...

Official ultrasound report says no leg clots, but they found a 2 cm Baker's cyst in my knee.

Bill, hope yer innerds get better soon.

Dave, how was the hike. Don't fall and hurt yourself again like last time--they say the most dangerous part of hiking is when you're tired at the end of it and trip on that pebble.

Steve, praying for your ability to accomplish what needs to be done and get through to retiring. Hang in there friend.

Time for a cup of coffee and some breakfast...

    Good morning!

A major decision was made yesterday. I think my health will suffer needlessly if I continue to push to the 19th. I know it is really not much time, but with my anxiety levels, it is a huge amount of time. The stress is unrelenting. I am going to retire next Friday, June 7. I can do that. This will give me time to get my assistant trained in everything so that she can cover until a new person gets started. The owner's CPA is not respecting any boundaries in her effort to get the FY closed to her standards which basically undoes a lot of what I did. Her focus is on the owner, not the company. She is adjusting the company books without consulting me. She is adjusting the company books in favor of the owner's personal tax records at the expense of the company taxes and books. She is also putting stupid pressure on me. I had thought about retiring even sooner than June 7, but if I can make it through next week, it assures that I will have health insurance until June 30. I will have private market insurance starting July 1. I will not get my first social security check until August. We will pull some out of the 401(k) to cover what I would have received in June and July.

Mike, I'm glad that you get to see your daughter. I'm also glad that the ultrasound didn't find anything.

Bill, I'm still holding you in prayer for your healing. Sam, you too are being held in prayer.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

6 more days and a wake up. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do, Steve.

Do they think the Baker's cyst is causing the lower leg swelling, Mike?
This guy made a short stop at a stocked trout pond yesterday and hooked up with a very frisky rainbow. The girls were with me, and they decided they were going to help when the trout made a pretty jump, so I had to play the fish and remove my fly from its upper lip with 2 very excited springer spaniels swimming after the hooked fish. Then they decided to chase the two Canada geese with goslings. That is when I had to put them back in the truck.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

You started my day off with a smile, Lee. That's why I have never taken Sassy with me when I go fishing.

Hope the next week isn't as bad as you fear, Steve.

    What's the next step, Mike?

Wonderful hike, yesterday. As is typical with this one, I am a bit sore, today. This is a rugged one. Great to complete it and feel pretty much the way I have for years. As I wrote on FB: "I'm back."

Looks like the docs haven't read my ultrasound report yet... Usually (according to the internet) Baker's cysts are harmless and often go away. Despite my PCP's ad lib explanation, there's still no logical reason I can see that makes sense for the swollen calf & ankle.

Mike, Doctor Google told me that Baker's Cysts can leak and cause redness, swelling and pain in the calf. Could that be your issue?

    Good Morning

Congrats on making the decision Steve. I am sorry things went south so fast.

Mike it sounds like the ultrasound was worth it, both for peace of mind and finding they cyst which could be the culprit.

I continue to struggle with the whole gut thing. I am tired of feeling sick. I am taking it easy and doing only a few things and try to get some exercise done. I have a couple of Dulcimer workshops today. I should be able to participate if I take it easy today. Of course the beast slipped out of tune earlier this week.

    Good Afternoon,
I can see where Sassy would be a little troublesome while fishing, but a great assistance when hiking; especially incase one was to fall.
Steve, I would think the CPA would balance what is best for company and owner together; but then I worked for a company where owner had a separate CPA for self and then another for company. Did not always do what was best for company and credit lines.
Mike, lots of stuff we put up with doctors cannot explain. Enjoy time with DD.
    Safe travels Lee! Enjoy Grandson!
Bill, pray gut clears up soon.
Left eye still blurred, shoulder keeping me awake at night.
