Up before the crack of dawn again, and I don't even have a dog waking me up for a walk.
Nothing on the calendar today, but I think I'll go for an early walk before the sun heats things up. We are getting into summery weather patterns now and afternoons are too hot for much exercise. Meanwhile, working on replacing all the hammer springs on piano, a new thing to me.
Bill, it's good your doctor found out what is going on with the gut--maybe a good thing the other one retired. (This is a new doc, no?) Hopefully things will get straightened out and get on the road to healing. And Happy anniversary to you and the redhead.
Dave, hope yer luck in Vegas goes better now that they let you back into your room. And Happy anniversary to you and Rita.

Mornin' gents.
Uber busy since getting back, even on my day off. Did not lose, but did not gain on my trip to Spain. We were very active, but me brother likes lots of bread and cheese and butter, and wine with dinner. I tracked everything, but wound up using all weeklies and activity points awarded by fitbit.
Bill, I would be interested to know what antibiotic they put you on.
I grilled my first tri-tip roast in Spain. I used indirect heat in a fire place style fire pit designed to cook whole young pigs, then seared at the end. So basically a reverse sear. Gauged doneness by feel, because the Spanish do not believe in instant read thermometers. Came out very nice. Drizzled with herbed butter. I was serving to people that did not care about fat calories. I had mine without the butter and it was very good. I did watch a couple of youtube videos on the best technique to slice. I decided on the technique that started at the long end working towards the change in the grain then flipping the roast 90 degrees to continue slicing. I probably over prepared, but I take my grilling very seriously, LOL.
I understand Steve released some devilish critter from a bag of potting soil and darn near scared Connie to death.
What an adventure you are having in Vegas!
Me bride has started planning my retirement. How do I tell her that I do not want to retire?

Good morning!
I'm glad that the anniversary couples had great trips.
Lee, that sounds like quite the meal that you prepared.
Bill, I'm happy for you that you are starting to get some answers on your gut issues. Connie is going through gut issues that act like IBS. We're not sure what to do for her yet.
Life is no fun if you can't raise your wife's heartbeat once in a while. I wasn't spooked by the skink coming out of the dirt bag, but I was freaked out when my wife screamed like a little girl. I thought that the woodchuck who lives in the burn pile was out, or that large blacksnake that I saw last year. Sheesh!
Yesterday was brutally hot. It is the humidity that makes it nasty, not the heat. We were promised storms, but they fell apart before they got to us. We saw lightning, they were that close.
I am at 170.9 pounds this morning. That's the lowest I've been in at least 15 years.
I'm headed out to the lake (pond for Mike) this morning with the kayak.
I have completed my first week of retirement. I like it!
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
I saw that June 13 at the heading and thought I opened the wrong page. "What?! I thought we were going home today."
We have a late flight out of Las Vegas: after 8 tonight. Imagine we'll get home to Tumwater about half past midnight. Going to be a long day. We'll pick up Sassy tomorrow morning. I miss my pup.

Good Morning
We finished our trip with another good day. This time touring/exploring the local Lighthouse Station. We haven’t been there in almost 20 years. Back then the non profit had just started digging out by hand all the invasive ice plant the Coast Guard planted in the 30’s. Now the whole station is awash in native plants that sprung up. Amazing colors right now. But afterward we were getting tired and were stiff and sore so we decided to skip another beach walk and head home a couple hours early since we weren’t up for any more walking. The trade off was the evening commute traffic we got to enjoy coming through Silicon Valley by leaving when we did. It was a great trip, the weather was amazing and we were able to do almost everything we hoped to do. I picked up my antibiotics and started them last night. 4 pills a day for 2 weeks. Today is about recovery, some rest, some ice and easy movement exercises to allow the back to ease up again.0 -
Good Afternoon,
From the HOT and HUMID South, heat index over weekend over a hundred,
and Sunday our church is having to meet outside because venue we rented to meet in told us last August that it was booked for 16th. Hopefully by end of next year building will be complete if County will stop coming up with additional things to be done.
Lee must be behind due to jet lag, I know I would be.
Pablo had me up at crack of dawn, mile and half in before sunrise but at least it was a little cooler although very humid. Yard cut by 9:30 and all my clothes were soaked.
Dave, get busy and bring back some extra funds
Lee, you need to take a day to rest; you being tired no wander Mary feels you need to retire.
Today is Flag Day, storm destroyed our pole little over a week ago and I have not replaced.
