    Rise n’ shine.

Another day in the 90s, index 100+. Going for a walk before the sun is high.

I need to have a strategy for going into situations where I know there’s going to be sweet foods so I don’t waffle about dealing with them.

    Stay cool everyone out there…

    Mornin' gents.

Might have to break Connie's rule on watering my tomatoes just every three days. They just aren't used to this heat and looked a bit stressed last night.
Awaken 180 is WAY out of my price range. WW's 10 months for $100 is pushing it for this miser.
    How was the hike, Dave?
M brought home a golden honeydew melon. Delicious. I may have overindulged and am feeling like I have done a colonoscopy prep.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning!

Frankie woke me up at 4:21. I tried to go back to bed, but I have a lot on my mind for some reason today, so I got back up after 20 minutes of rolling around.

Collin has work starting tomorrow. I hope this one lasts more than a few weeks. Connie is angry with me for loaning Collin $75. Connie is frustrated because although I start Social Security in July, I won't get my first payment until August. We are pinching pennies tightly, but that frustrates me, because we have abundant savings and investments. It seems to diminish the joy of retirement if we can't do anything. I don't know how to get her past these money worries. I prepare a weekly spending report and I have a solid budget that we look at weekly. Sigh.... It was this way when I changed jobs last year. It will take a little while to establish a normal, and then we can expand out from there.

It is still hot, humid, and dry here.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

The hike yesterday was great. When aren't they? Two hours on a scenic highway, followed by an hour on really bad Forest Service roads, was a bit much, but the hike was great.

We have the grandkids until Friday. Rita is focused on keeping them entertained, so that is where I'll be for next three days: being the cool grandparents.

    Good Morning

A nice day ahead with moderate temps. Gut issues continue to improve and I am feeling bettere. I still have another week + of antibiotics but I am about ready to slowly reintroduce more fiber into my diet. I might try a little coffee this weekend. The back is responding to the daily hip movement etc. Walking is going better as a result. Perhaps the back is turning the corner for the second half of the recovery period. I am tracking down an electrician to come and work on our GFC circuit which will not reset. I will have them check the entire circuit. Hopefully it can get resolved quickly.
