Off for an early walk and then further work on piano regulation. Hoping it's not too hot in the house where piano is.
Have a good one.0 -
Good morning!
Dave, you always hike in such beautiful country. wow!
I am headed out in the next half hour for my 2nd kayak outing of the year. The weather is going to be hot and humid today, but an early start is OK.
I am adjusting to being retired, but I am not. There is a part of me that thinks I am on vacation, so I need to get all of these things done so that I can go back to work. I am fighting those thoughts. I am also getting some stuff done. I'm happy.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Steve, for me, successful retirement means staying active - both physically and mentally. I need activities that I devote my time to. So, it is OK to have things you feel you need to get done. You do need to get things done, and more after those. To do otherwise is to vegetate - a road to poor health and an early grave. So, learn to rebuild pianos, restore houses for the indigent, write the great American novel, kayak to New Orleans, volunteer bookkeeping for non-profits, but do something. That's my unsolicited advice.
One final choir practice tonight, along with a potluck supper. We have a fundraising variety show Sunday afternoon.0 -
Good Morning,
I fully agree with Dave, must stay busy mentally and physically or else one falls apart.
First day of Summer, HOT and HUMID as usual.0 -
Good Morning
I have to admit, as my activity has lessened these last two years I have now found that as my health begins to improve I am amazed at the scope of decline. Building back slowly but damn it isn’t quite the active retirement I planned. The electrician is coming this morning to resolve our GFCI circuit. $$$ At least he has a good idea of what is going on and will check all the relevant outlets to be sure it is resolved. I don’t care to mess with electric.0 -
Lee in summer weather I water my tomatoes a bit every other day and just the right amount every day when it is hot (above 90 something. Mine are in containers so could perhaps add a bit of time when in the ground. Ole timers use to get something like a big "oil drum" sized container and punch a tiny hole in the bottom near a side to provide a small trickle dripping warm water to the tomatoes. that works great too. Tomatoes don't want wet but like even watering of the right amount we are told by the extension service.
Amazing hike Dave indeed in "god's country".
Glad to hear you are making some progress Bill.
Stay comfy and as free from pain as possible all!0
