Rise and shine...
I think weather surprised even the weathermen with their talk about a heat dome over the Northeast. By suppertime it had turned cool, and a T-storm dropped the temp to 60º. Cool this morning with more thick as pea soup fog.
Church this morning, then 'tis time to put aside hobbies and get packing for a week at the Cape. Will be a few days at DD's cottage with DGD who I understand has taken up squatter's rights there. I may bring my watercolors and do some of that before moving over to the campground second half of week.
Dave, the walnut stumps sound massive. Can't imagine the old lumberjacks doing everything without chainsaws and trucks.
Onward and downward, hopefully.0 -
Good morning!
Mike, I hope that you have an awesome week.
We received a whopping .05 inch of rain last night. I will be watering at the cemetery, and our garden this morning. Our cold front is giving us a high of 90 today, but less humidity. I'll take it.
Not much is planned for today. Connie is encouraging me to take a day of Sabbath at least once a week.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents
Sorry been MIA.
Getting reminded that I am of retirement age and asked if I am going to retire daily. I think clients are a bit worried about the "new guard".
My dear friend Dr Harvey Hayden keep practicing until he passed last month at the age of 91, and Willy Nelson is still performing at the same age, so my plan is to keep going but not "balls to the wall" as the WWII aviators used to say.

THE CAPE. Water coloring sounds like a really neat thing to do, if you are not fishing the surf, or hunting great whites.
Warm and muggy here after thunderstorms yesterday and overnight. And foggy. Hoping fog will lift and can get boat in the water to make sure all systems go before taking it to the salt.
I try to take a Sabbath day at least twice a week, Steve. Although, sometimes my days off seem workier than my days at the clinic.
Sam, 4 mile walks are good for just about anybody, except maybe Dave.
Mac and cheese...toss some lobster in there and you got heaven.
Down 3 lbs this week. Not sure where that came from, but I'll take it.
Onward and downward ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
My mac-and-cheese includes a bunch of bacon. It isn't lobster, but the kids love it.
The kids stayed one last night. Their parents will pick them up in time to change clothes and get to church. We have a new interim pastor starting this week. She'll be with us until we find a permanent preacher. The last time around, the process took two years. After church we'll grab lunch at home, then have to be back at church in the afternoon for the fund-raising variety show. With luck we'll make it home by supper time.
Temps here are much cooler, too. Should be mid-60s today, with a chance of some light rain.0 -
Good Morning
Kinda jonesing for mac and cheese. Thanks
We decided to replace our 20 year old washing machine rather than invest any serious repair money into it. Heat spiked for one day yesterday we hit 101. Not the best day to go out to lunch and then appliance shopping. The appliance store we used for the kitchen wouldn’t do the install since the dryer has to be moved to get the washer out and into the laundry closet since they didn’t sell us the dryer last year. They were backordered anyway. We headed over to Home Depot and found the same model at the same price with free delivery. He said the installation I described shouldn’t be an issue. The A/C in home depot kept cutting out blowing warm air. Poor employees. Our A/C has an indicator light on I noticed when changing the filter. It is working so I am tracking down what that means. Temps are dropping again today so I will get some weeding in.0 -
We were about 10 degrees warmer than Dave in Tumwater (near Olympia WA) in our house near PDX. Reached 86 deg and didn't cool as nicely last night with clouds. Will be more like mid 70s today I think.
Sorry about Dave's chainsaw.
It will be great for Mike to get out camping for sure.
I saw a juvenile bald eagle (maybe about 2&1/2 yr old??) yesterday atop a utility pole. My friends today said it hopped down onto the golf driving range and was pouncing up and down (gopher?mole?vole?). They tried to get thegolfers to aim away from the eagle. Finally they yelled that it was a 10,000 dollar fine to kill one (actually it is more like 5,000 dollar for first offense but anyhoo. They aimed elsewhere and eventually the juvenile eagle flew off.
Saw some more baby ducklings yesterday and today. Seems like a long hatching season.
Stay comfy all!0
