Good morning!
Yesterday, it reached 101 degrees here. This morning, at 5:25, it is 82 degrees with 70 degree dew point and feels like 86. I will NOT be working outside this morning. This is just nasty weather. We are feeling trapped by it. Usually, there is a break. Not so much for at least a week now.
Collin finished day three of a new job that pays well. He is a forklift driver. He said he likes the job! It is for National Cold Storage. He is working in a limestone cave, and the temps vary from -10 to 65. He likes the people. We are praying that this will be the one for him.
I have not gotten my bike out now for months. The weather situation is not helping.
Frankie woke me up at 4:40 this morning. Bless her little rotten heart.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
It's an early one here, too. I set my alarm for 4, but got up at 3:30. Today's hike is in Mt. Rainier National Park. You need a reservation to enter the main part of the park, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. I have no reservation, so need to get to the gate before 7. I am planning a long hike, today, one I did two years ago, just to say I had. Now, it's another test of my fitness.0 -
Mornin' gents
It's official, I can't even think of retiring now (even if I wanted to), partner Dr that has been super inconsistent and has been rubbing staff the wrong way has packed up and left, leaving me and our part time Dr holding the bag. I owe Heart&Paw nothing, but I do feel allegiance to the clients and clinic staff.
Good thing I do enjoy the job, for the most part. One of the founding doctors came in yesterday to have a heart to heart with the problem doc, and after that the partner/problem Doc grabbed her gear and boogied, and said she wasn't coming back in the rest of the week and has been scheduled for vacation next week. The company won't terminate her, they are hoping she resigns. Something has gotta give, one way or another. No way she came come back to the practice after these shenanigans, and after seeing her grab all her personal stuff, I do not think she plans to.
(((sigh)))
Paying insurance on something you do not use is not optimal. Maybe you could even get farm truck status on your S10, Steve. Great news about Collin!
Bob, you keep riding. It doesn't matter how far you go. Wasn't it Nike that said, "just do it"?
Sounds like you need to get a bigger chainsaw, Dave. Good luck at the gate and hope you get in that long hike.
Sure hope your DW recovers from back issue to return to driving, Sam. Sorry to hear that she her recovery has been so prolonged. You don't really have to ride Toad to enjoy, you can just look at Toad for enjoyment.
Cooled off here, nice day.
Onward and downward ;-)

Good Morning
Lee, lets hope that problem vet is truly gone. It sounds like clear expectations were laid out and didn’t go over well. We used to terminate employees who disappeared for more than 3 working days as abandonment of employment.
I am hoping Dave is well up the trail by now.
Heat spiked again yesterday but cooled in the evening and we should be back in the 80’s today. I am heading out to walk in a few minutes before it warms up since Heather has the car this week so the gym is out. Beginning to get some energy back hopefully a sign that things are moving forward. More cleaning and organizing today.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Hit 100 yesterday and expect it to dance around that balance of week, did cool down to 72 this morning.
I try and walk Pablo at break of dawn and be back in before sun starts beating down.
Tonight, will take Pablo to the Lodge since DW has to be at medical center an hour away by 7 am.
Hope Dave gets a great hike in and returns safely home.
Sorry about extra workload Lee but somewhere down the line you are going to have to turn patients over to someone else. Plus, Mary is going to want to spend more time with DGS.
Believe Steve has an early 70's C10 pickup, classic.
