Well, she wouldn't resign, so upper management made the right call and terminated her. A big relief for us at the practice, but unfortunately probably not the end of the headache for Heart&Paw. I suspect there may be legal repercussions, hopefully not. I am not sure, but there could be a mental health issue.
It is what it is. Nose to the grindstone, and all that. There is a lot of slack to take up.
I strayed yesterday and had a Cubana, the feminine version of the Cubano, made with chicken breast instead of pork. It was delicious.
Heating up again today...thunderstorms later.
Onward and Downward ;-)

Good morning!
Lee, that is a tough situation. Let's pray that they bring in an eager DVM that will dive right in and be an awesome help to all.
I do have a 1971 Chevy C10 truck. It is a classic. I pay $17.50 in antique registration each year, no property taxes, and I have very cheap liability only insurance as long as I drive it less than 7500 miles a year.
We had 1.46 inches of badly needed rain last night. Perhaps it will be cooler now. Yesterday, the temps bumped up against 100 again. At one point we had a dew point of 79.5. I didn't even know it could get that high. Once the dew point gets above 70, it is considered oppressive. At 79.5 you can cut the air with a knife. It is just gross to be out in it.
I hope Dave has an awesome hike.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
It was a good hike, yesterday, not a great one, but that was as expected. I walked a gravel road, that has been closed to the public for 30 years due to periodic glacial overrun floods on the lower end. This hike is just sort of a test, due to its length. I covered 20.3 miles, with 2,640 feet of vertical and was back at the truck by 2:15. No spectacular views, though enough peek-a-boo ones to know that the scenery was pretty special when the road was built in the 1930s. Anyway, test passed.
Hope a new, more positive chapter is opening at the vet practice. I don't sweat the occasional indulgence, Lee. I enjoy a really good burger every now and then, and it doesn't seem to affect my weight appreciatively.
When I lived in Maryland, 40 years ago, my apartment looked out over a golf course. I remember some summer mornings when it was 80 degrees and there was fog on the course. Contrast that to Puget sound: forecast for the next two weeks is lows in the high 40s, highs in the mid to upper 70s and sunshine with a few puffy clouds. Best summers in the US.0 -
Good Morning
Lee, I am glad at least the situation at the practice is somewhat resolved and they can, hopefully, move forward and bring in a strong addition to the practice.
Congratulations on the hike Dave!
Temps have dropped into the low 80’s for the next few days. Today is dominated by the delivery of the washing machine sometime between 10:30 and 2:30. Just a few things to move out of the way and then I will putz around here. Any walking will need to wait till this evening.0 -
Good Afternoon,
Continues HOT and HUMID, forecast 101
DW is fine just waiting on biopsy, told will take at least 10 days,
Pablo is sound asleep on DW,
Need to cut grass and trim hedges, will wait till early one morning,
20.3 miles is great, my knee starts hollowing at 4 miles, well done Dave.
Lee, we know you can handle it; just don't let Hearts and Paws know you can; remember slowing down so you can possibly go to parttime.0
