Good morning!
I'm not sure why I did post here yesterday. I know that I got out early on my bicycle. Today is supposed to be even hotter and more humid, so I don't know if much or anything will be done outside today. We are expecting four or more days of really hot and humid weather. I need to mow, but the grass may just have to get taller. All the rain we recently had has given the grass a boost.
I want to increase my physical activity, but it is hard for me to moderate and not do too much too quickly. It is heck getting older physically.
I have cleaned and detailed both cars. I got too hot working on my car yesterday. Today might be more of a rest day.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Mike, I use the Butterball Everday Frozen Turkey burgers. Per WW, they are 6 points apiece, but they are big burgers.
Steve, with M in Germany, keeping up with the house chores and yard chores, plus working has me taking it pretty easy on my day off. I am good at pacing myself. M would say too good. I would say you deserve a day off from working in the heat, buddy.
Cooled off a bit last night. Rain coming this afternoon. It has been a wet summer so far. Flower beds are loving it.
Told my GP yesterday, I had cancer. I skipped a beat, and she stared at me over her glasses, then I admitted it was just a dermal basal cell carcinoma on the back of my shoulder and that complete excision was schedule for next month. She laughed, but then said if left alone, it could be bad news. Never jest with a good doctor, they always win.

Good morning gentlemen.
I was a lot younger when I dealt with Midwest heat and humidity. I'd probably stay out of that weather, now, too. But don't let age automatically keep you from pushing yourself. As long as you don't have medical limitations, I say the heck with moderation. I like to reach my limits, not fear them. Maybe that's the old soldier in me: "Be all that you can be."
Watched "Horizon: An American Saga" yesterday. Long, disjointed, slow moving ... but a Western, so it was good to me. I'll go to part two next month.
Turned another walnut bowl, yesterday, out of a heavy wet crotch piece. Probably Monday before I get in the shop again. Rita has a doctor's appointment this morning, then I need to mow the lawn, this afternoon (it will only be 85, here, with low humidity). I am going down to Salem tomorrow and Sunday, to work at sorting the contents of the old house.0 -
Good Morning,
Pablo has been out, only 2 miles this morning,
Need to cut backyard this morning before it gets too hot. Feels good now but will rise into mid/upper 90's.
Neighbor that was walking Pablo every night for me is headed to FL, and I'm caring for her cat for next 8 days.
Steve you are retired now, pace yourself.
Lee enjoy Mary being in Germany where she cannot keep adding to honey do list.0 -
Mornin'
Visited hardware store this morning to find a blade for cutting plastic--the new piano keytops are 3/8" too long for the little spinet piano keys I am re-covering. Ready now to glue them on and file the edges, the last of them. After they're back in, still need to finish regulating the mechanics inside the piano, and fine-tune, but it's coming along. This has been a real down and gritty learning experience, realize after all the books and articles I read I know so little. A good indoor project when it's hot and humid outside.
DD in Hawaii has a new BF and now he wants to "meet" her parents... via Zoom. I'm not crazy about doing anything via Zoom, and he might be coming out here for my DS's wedding in Sept. anyway. She keeps finding BFs and getting unceremoniously dumped, but seems this fellow is a decent find. Ahh, to be young again. We shall see.
Clouding up and there's flood warnings for tomorrow. Heard VT got whacked by the remnants of Hurricane B.

Good Morning
More triple digits today. Thankfully our Mediterranean climate means only 45% or so but it is still damn hot and a breeze is nowhere to be found. A good excuse to stay inside and watch Wimbledon. I got out for my walk after prayer to keep the streak going this week. I am definitely making progress compared to where I was 2 weeks ago. Today I have to head back to the Drs office to pick up my cross which I left there and to pick up a few groceries for my son who makes dinner of Fridays. I may make a pie today as well. Just a small slice for me and some for the family and the rest to the neighbors.0
