Internet was too slow yesterday and never checked in. I did get out for an early hike in the cool of the day, about 3 miles. Spent the day doing laundry and cleaning.
Raining this morning. Bible study today, another donut challenge to my self-control...
Steve, sorry to hear about Colin. I got fired once for being tardy, but that was when I was a teenager.
DS had a severe asthma attack after his uphill bike race on Sunday. Gets mild exercise induced asthma lately but not like that. Says he will call his doctor...
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Mornin' gents.
Happy Birthday to Rita. Chicken and pork sounds delicious!
Sorry about Collin. Had high hopes.
Meeting my financial planner guy in Concord MA tomorrow. He lives in Ft Worth and have never met him. He and his DW are in Boston for a family thing. I usually work Wednesdays, so am playing hooky.
Mike, I hope DS gets his asthma checked up on. That is no joke.
Sunday night, my oldest DSister called me just before my usual bedtime to chat, so I was a little annoyed at that, then after she beat around the bush a bit, she told me she had fallen TWO weeks ago in her bathroom and then had to crawl into her bedroom to get her cell phone to call for help, and was still feeling pretty painful. Well, after getting that news, I was even more annoyed about getting the news 2 weeks after the fact. I had to call her back the next day to discuss after I stopped being angry about the whole thing and had a very good discussion with her about having someone come in and making her apartment more handicap friendly (she is using a walker to move around the apartment) and getting a waterproof pendant she can wear in the shower in case she goes down again. Thankfully, she didn't break anything. Sadly, she is located in Jacksonville FL, so it is not easy for me to trot on over to check things out.

Good morning!
Wow, Lee, I'm glad that your sister didn't break anything. You are a good brother.
I'm headed out soon to water plants. That means going to the cemetery and watering Connie's flower bed there, and then all of the plants around the house and out in the garden.
I'm not sure what is on tap today beyond that. Connie probably has a way to keep me busy.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Scary about your sister, Lee. Glad she is OK.
Grilling went well, last night. Chicken and pork steak were delicious. DS then pulled our old croquet set out of the garage and we had a fun game before it got too cool, and we went inside for coffee and dessert.
Today is devoted to Rita, as it's her 71st birthday. Hard to fathom having such big numbers attached to us. I still think of us as the couple who met 39 years ago. Anyway, driving her up to Seattle for the day - is that doesn't show the depths of my love, nothing does. I hate driving in Seattle.

Asthma is no joke, I've loss several friends because they thought they had outgrown or knew better, DD has had several close calls.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RITA!!!
Somehow someone can always find something for me to do.
DW drove herself to doctor today, first time driving on a couple of months; hope she does good; I'm worn-out taking care of self, DW, DMIL and when DGK's need something.
DW must be doing good headed to DS's to pick up DGS to take to high school for senior pictures.
Upper 80's possibly 90 with high humidity thunderstorms expected this afternoon.0 -
Happy Birthday Rita!
Lee, I am glad your sister is OK and you were eventually able to have a good talk about things.
I am so sorry to hear about Colin again. Tough love would be my thought regarding to supporting him which only enables. I hope you all can find your way.
Heat returned with a vengeance yesterday. I got out for my walk before it got ugly but couldn’t get out in time to be back for morning prayer at 8:00. By 9:00 it will be well into the 80s and climbing fast. My kingdom for a breeze. Off to the surgeon this afternoon for a back check in. 4 months since surgery, 2 more months of recovery. It has gone well from my perspective.0 -
Awe Lee sorry about your poor dear sister and her travails. Ouch indeed and such a problem.
HAPPY B-DAY RITA!!! Glad to hear Dave and Rita are having a great
B-day celebration week.
Cold has returned here this morning just a couple of days after something like 95degrees it was 48 degrees here this a.m. Are you kidding me??? Maybe 80degrees later today.0
