Today is DS#1's 35th birthday. Yikes. DGS's 1st birthday is in one week. Our 36th Anniversary is in a couple of weeks. Double Yikes.
Great news about your DW, Sam. Big step for her and big relief for you.
So glad to hear you are happy about the result of your back surgery, Bill. I am guessing that means a lot less pain for you.
    Playing hooky today.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning!

    Happy birthday to Lee's son!

Connie and I plan to drive about 60 miles north, looking for sites where we can observe, and I can photograph the meteor shower that is peaking on Aug 11. It is hard to find somewhere close without light pollution.

We are now back into summer with high heat and humidity. Yuck.

Trap is in the garden for the stoopid woodchuck. Today, the trap gets baited.

    Have a great day!

Good luck with your woodchuck trapping, Steve. I met a fellow once who kept trapping squirrels and driving them across town. Wondering if they were finding their way back he decided to spray orange paint on their tails… sure ‘nuf, they were coming back.

Lee, we lost a friend who fell and was on the floor three days before someone found her. Lingered in the hospital and then nursing home, but passed away a few weeks later. Follow up with your sister, thise things can really help.

60’s here this morning. Going for another hike while it’s cool. Yesterday I hiked alongside “Blood Swamp”, a mile long area of beaver lodges, water lilies, dead trees and heron nests. Trail had wet overhanging bushes but the morning rain had stopped. If I don’t get out and move in the morning I am stuck in low or neutral all day.

Steve, great idea to go see a meteor shower. Bring reclining lawn chairs if you can. Hope you get clear skies.

    Bob, hope low PSA results.

Bill, it’s heartening to hear your progress in dealing with various pains and ills. Hope things continue to get better.

    Well, Onward and downward.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Rita's birthday, yesterday, was a bit of a bust. Seattle traffic was awful - as usual. We drove to two casinos she likes and lost big at both. Missed lunch and had a forgettable supper at a restaurant that used to be good. So it goes.

Shop time this morning, then some shopping. Need to hit REI for a new hat and a water filter.

    Good Morning

Visit with Surgeon couldn’t have gone better. I am doing well enough with no pain that he is convinced any risk of damaging the disc hernia repairs is minimal and he would “graduate” from his care a couple months early and removed all restrictions with the understanding that I would gradually introduce the balance exercise, strength work with light weight and mobility/flexibility which we discussed quite a bit. It was a pleasure to thank him, bless him and shake his hand. The end result exceeds anything I would have hoped for. I am glad I didn’t stray from his game plan for recovery and followed it fairly religiously.

Temps are still ugly here. It is hard to get a walk in now but I will try. I may do some simple workouts at home today. Heather has the car for an outing with a young girl she babysits for etc whom she has known since she was at the preschool. They are off to the mall for a bit of shopping and lunch for her birthday celebration. I will stay home and do laundry and some cleaning.

    Good Morning,
I have no plans for today
We are in dog days of summer HOT and HUMID with rain daily.
    Great news Bill.
    Happy Birthday to DS#1 Lee
Poor little woodchuck, he just wants to eat; I would poison the little varmint.
Thankfully fence is keeping rabbits and deer out of our garden for now.
Lee, if you would play hooky more often DW may not push for retirement as much.
