Prayers for your eyesight, Bob. We need you on the bike trails... Hope they can assess what's wrong and your vision comes back.

59º this morning under clear sky. Will get out for a walk again while it's cool.

I found 4 Steinway upright pianos online for cheap, (<$1K), three from 1890's, the era my GF worked for them in the varnishing dept. We have no pictures of him, only a census log telling us his occupation, and we lost touch with my mom's side of the family when she died after my delivery. It would be cool to own something he worked on with his own hands. I read that the varnishers would brush on 15 coats, drying a week or more between coats, sanding in between. Young workers had to move the pianos in and out of the drying area day after day while the varnishers (they had a union) did the delicate work on the finish. No wonder $teinways were so expensive.

    Onward and downward...

    Good Morning,
Praying for site to return Bob,
Mike where would you put a Steinway?
My grandfather on father's side made caskets, not interested in one anytime soon.
Very humid this morning walking Pablo, totally drained me and I have a good bit of yard work left I did not complete.

    Good morning!

Bob, prayers for your eye health. Wow! That sounds scary.

I just spent the last two hours watering plants. We are expecting very hot, humid and dry for at least another week. Ugh!

I want to do some night photography, but with the smoky haze from Canadian forest fires, we don't have very clear skies. it is amazing to me how far that smoke travels.

I still have not caught that stoopid woodchuck, but the trap is set and baited. Last night we watched him go around the trap several times looking at the tomato bait, but he never went inside the trap. I am going to try another bait today. They say to try cantaloupe.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Holy cow, Bob! Praying you get that figured out.

I'd "bait" that woodchuck with a .22, Steve.

A member of the church choir's husband suddenly passed away a few weeks ago, and the memorial service is late this morning. I didn't know him but will go to support my fellow singer.

    Good Morning

My word Bob, I can’t imagine what that could have been like. I hope the Docs get the vision restored and some answer to the why. I have updated my prayer list.

Mike, that is a pretty special connection with those Steinway uprights. Are you thinking of upgrading your piano to one of them?

Yesterday morning we turned on the Olympics Opening Ceremony and were held transfixed for the next 4 + hours. Well done Paris! We finished the day with my son making Chicken Tika Masala & Naan. It can be quite a production and he can trash a kitchen like an olympian. But it was delicious, my system seems to have handled it. Today I plan on going through some piles that have accumulated.

Hey Mike I worked on an old "upright grand" piano that was incredibly heavy and had a wooden harp in it. The harp was warping and splitting a bit but I cautiously tuned about 4 octaves on it. I thought when dear wife learned to play more I would try and coax more octaves out of it.
I don't overdo it but could do short bike rides even with just vision in one eye. Interestingly all 50 states and the district of Columbia require good vision in one eye only to drive a car.
    Hangin' in there for now.
I worried about the grand piano(s) outside in the rain in the Paris Olympics yesterday. OMG.

    Off to yoga soon.

    Mornin' gents.

Just coming up for air. Wasn't supposed to work yesterday, but decided to go in for a couple of cases that would have had to gone to ER if I hadn't. Didn't get home until 7:30 pm.
3 AM wake up to take the boat to the salt, but didn't have it in me. Settled for more sleep.
Bob, that sounds a bit scary, but knowing that you have incredible healing powers (and good doctors), I would envision a good recovery for your sight in that eye.
Yes, high speed projectiles work well on gophers. Lead poisoning. I have a old .243 that creates a nice pink mist when using a 50 gram bullet.

    Onward and downward ;-)
