Good morning!
We are under excessive heat warnings for the next three days. Oh joy!
I did get out on my bike yesterday. I really enjoy that. I went a bit too far, and I have a little muscle soreness today, but I'll take that any time if there is improvement involved. If I get out before 9:00 a.m. it is OK with the heat.
Woodchuck 2 - Human 0. Sigh.... I set the trap with the bait, and he took it, and tripped the door. But he got out. I think that I failed to set the lock correctly on the trap. I'll get him today. Bill Murray is laughing at me along with that stoopid woodchuck.
Household chores today with the heat.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin' gents.
Meant to post to yesterday's roll call but posted to Saturday's instead.
Caddyshack. Great movie.
Got wee boat on the water yesterday after swapping propellers out. No real improvement in speed but the motor had an easier time spinning the replacement prop (original prop that I had to recondition in my work shop after nicking it up a couple of years back) and it was much more responsive. The girls came along and had some off the boat water retrieve fun. I ordered a brand new prop when I got home.
Smoked some pork tenderloins yesterday. M found for under $2/lb. Dry brined with cajun seasoning overnight, then wrapped in thin sliced center cut bacon, then dusted with a pork BBQ rub before putting in the pellet smoker at 185 for about an hour, the cranked temp up to 375 to crisp up the bacon. Came out a perfect medium (with the help of my Meater thermometer probe system). M made some creamy dill potato salad and a huge spring mix salad with tomatoes/red onions/feta (the normal nightly salad).
Semi point friendly, but extremely satisfying. I might have had a gin and sugar free tonic to wash it down.
I did not have trouble falling asleep last night after playing in the sun, nice dinner, and the G&T.
Onward and Downward ;-)

Good morning gentlemen.
Sounds like a well-spent Sunday, Lee.
After church, yesterday, I watched a few hours of Olympics coverage, then spent some time in the shop. A restful day, for me, after lots of running around the previous few days.
Rita has two appointments today: a doctor's appointment this morning at the Army hospital, then an ophthalmologist appointment in Tacoma in the late afternoon. Rather than make two long drives, we'll just stay out for the whole day and just leave Sassy in the backyard. So much for restful days.0 -
Good Morning,
Due to heat have gotten where I take Pablo out a little after 6 for our long walk, generally 2.5 to 3 miles then short walk about a mile after supper.
ROMEO's this morning, restaurant only a mile up road.
Need to pick okra, ground too wet to hoe in garden. DW picked green beans yesterday, should have more tomatoes coming in latter part of week, vines are loaded if I can keep varmints from getting them first. I keep seeing deer jumping fence two doors up, though my fence is two feet taller.0 -
Yuuuuum the pork tenderloins sound great. Hey save me a slice???
Oh my Dave a busy day w Rita's Doc appts.
Still cool here until Thursday and then predicted something like 7 or 8 days in the 90s which is hot for us!!!
Our first rain in forever this a.m. not a lot but still adding up a pinch anyway.

Good Morning
The pork tenderloin does sound good! I really pushed my self walking yesterday walking over 2 miles doing a lot of uphill work. I was tempted to push a little more to make it a full hour but then came to my senses. I was wiped out the rest of the day and enjoyed lots of the various Olympic competition. I love being able to stream by sport. Felt good to be able to push myself outside though. A month ago I was still struggling to go 20-25 minutes with having to stop at times. I just need to keep it going. I have now set achievable goals for the week for getting things done toward moving out of here.0 -
Woodchuck 2 - Human 1. We are going to let the woodchuck think that he won, and gift him some lake front property. He was not happy during transport in the 1971 C10, but he shot out into the woods by the lake (pond for Mike). I think that he will be happy there. We have been dealing with him in one way or another for at least two years now. I feel victorious.

Congrats Steve.
I have same trap baited for rabbits, I've caught squirrels, armadillos and possums while rabbits sit back and watch. At least I have only seen one small rabbit inside fence since it has been put up and Pablo chased that rabbit out of yard.0
