Team Monthly Challenges (Goals) for August 2024

Congratulations Team for the Fantastic Job in completing your Team Monthly Goals for July, Well Done.

Hope you will join me for this next New Month of August! Let’s Finish Strong Together.

For the Month of August we will work on keeping Strong and as Limber as we can with Focusing on Cardio and Strength Training Exercises.

I encourage you to start using some weights in your fitness sessions. There are a number of Weights you can use, Dumb Bells, Weight Balls and you can use Vegetable Cans or any Large size food tins to provide some weight to your routines.

If you are not ready for Weights just follow along in the Fitness Video’s with out weights.

What is important is we keep moving our bodies and stay as healthy as we can.

Regular physical activity can help keep your thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as you age. It can also reduce your risk of depression and anxiety and help you sleep better.

I encourage you to try as many of the the Following Exercises that you can follow in any of the Fitness Video’s I have included.

Or you are welcome to use your own routine, whatever works best for you!

So for this Month’s Healthy Goals we will work on Both Nutrition and Fitness and Be the Best and Healthiest We can Be!

Team Goal # 1 Nutrition

- aim to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water per day
- Track your calories per day
- Eat at least 5 to 8 servings of fresh fruits and veggies per day
- Eat at least 25 grams of Fibre per day

P.S. FYI
Barb asked question on Fibre:

When you track your Food on MFP you can click on any of the Nutrients you want to keep track of. For example when I joined MFP in my Nutrition Thread where I log my days food you can click on Carbs Sodium and or Fibre or any other Nutrients you wish to track. Some days I have posted a “Food” and I get a note saying you wanted to stay under… this tells me it wasn’t best choice and I can change the food or recipe so I stay within my healthy range! Hope this helps!

Team Goal # 2 Fitness

- Set a goal in how much weight you want to lose
- Focus on Cardio at least 5 days a week at least 30 minutes or more per day
- Aim to Strength Train 3 days a week at least 25 minutes or more per session

    Welcome Back

    I am working on my Cardio and my Strength Training to get as strong and healthy as I can. I will be using weights, starting off with 2 pound weight Balls and then wirk my way up to Dumb Bells 3pounds then hoping to increase weight as I get stronger. I will for the most part follow Coach Nicole from the Spark People Video with some modifications!

    Welcome Back for a brand new week! You did a great job in completing your first week! You finished strong!

    This week I am working on adding more fresh Fruit and Veggies to my daily meals

    For Fitness I will be using Stretch Bands and work at stretching out the core muscles to sit up straighter shoulders lifted and pulled back to improve my upper back muscles for improved posture.

    Using the Stretch Bands is a challenge but this week I am determined to keep working at it. Stretching my Core Muscles is important for me as I work on Stretching and Strengthening exercises to keep limber and mobile.
