    Good morning!

A few weeks ago they milled our little street in the 'hood. Yesterday, they started paving, and today they should finish. It is an inconvenience, but we will finally have a beautiful street! I am not sure the street has been resurfaced in over 25 years.

Connie's appointment yesterday went well. We are hoping to get more to the bottom (no pun intended) of her IBS type symptoms. She is still scheduled for an upper and lower colonoscopy later this month.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Only thing on the schedule, for today is to get our latest Covid vaccination. We'll see whether we have any reaction to it. I've never suffered any negative symptoms, but Rita has. I might go for a bike ride before we get the shots.

    Mornin’ men.

Another nice sunny day. Collecting my hiking gear and going for a morning hike, probably in the watershed land in town. Visited there yesterday and the river we sometimes paddle is a stagnant pool with barely any flow. Guess we need some rain.

Hoping to get in a camping trip soon. I usually plan camping trips way in advance and start drying meals ahead of time—even months ahead— but now I’m pressed for time. Some meals are quick: mix some oats and dried fruit and nuts; powdered eggs, hashbrown mix, pancake mix, etc. Just measure and pack in ziploc bags. Dinners however involve food prep, cooking, and days of dehydrating. Alternative is prepackaged freeze-dried meals, a bit pricey however.

One aspect of remote camping is the lack of internet and cell service, it’s an opportunity to detox from the news, from busyness, worry, escapism. A mental and spiritual reset.

    Onward and downward.

    A good day to everyone…

How soon I forgot. It was actuall 100degrees at my house near PDX a week ago Thursday and now I don't expect to see 80 degrees until next year some time. His in the upper 60s to low 70s now. 47 degrees at my house this a.m.
Good luck for Connie and her upcoming tests.
Hey Dave I rode before and after my covid and flu shots yesterday. My DW has practically no rx to hers. I have a sore right arm where I had the covid shot but just fine. I did flu in left arm and covid in right arm.
Hope you are having a great hike,Mike.
Yeah internet and cell service is certainly dicey in some places. Joshua Tree National Park has volunteers warning folks to carry water and watch out for trail finding as there is no water on trails or cell service.
Signs posted to say "Don't Die Today" warning folks too.
    Hang in there all!

    Good Afternoon,
PT this morning, told I could lose sling.
With health one needs phone service or to have someone with them, just giving my opinion as everyone has one.

    Good Morning

Congratulations on loosing the sling Sam!

I must have forgotten to check in yesterday. We had internet issues yesterday that ended up taking 5 hours to resolve. A lot of work for a service we cancel in 11 days. Lots to do today, but I may need to do a trash run to clear space.

    Agreed Sam. Good advice.

I always bring my Garmin INReach satellite communicator with me, even when I hike around here where cell service can be spotty. And extra batteries. It can send short text messages via Iridium satellites to whoever you want, or directly send SOS to a worldwide search and rescue system. Have never needed it, but I always have it in case. Got it with a gift certificate the office gave me at retirement. Got it mostly for when I do trips to the New England boondocks.
