Got ambushed by candy pushers-- at senior center after my piano class, and in the hallways of my condo. I climbed Mt. Wachusett yesterday, this time all the way up. Nice view, and the old heart and lungs seemed to handle it well. First time since COVID last fall. I think I'll hike it once a week from now on. There are seven different trails up from different side of the mountain. Yesterday's trail was only 600' of climbing in 1/2 mile, steep but volunteers have put in stairs over most of the trail. Other trails are 2 miles and 1100 feet, over jumbled boulders--won't get boring.

Working on a piano today that has been hard to regulate because the parts are so inaccessible. I made a tool out of coathanger wire that may help solve the problem.

Another mild day ahead, gorgeous sunrise, but boy do we need rain. I can't remember the AMC ever cancelling a local river trip for lack of water and I've been doing these since 2004.

    ONward and downward.

    Good morning!

I plan on voting early today. Connie voted yesterday. She said that she was the only one there at the time. No lines, no waiting.

I like the cooler temps that we have now. I just have to get outside and enjoy them now.

How often do you guys take naps? Because I get up early with the dog, I don't sleep in. I find myself wanting to sleep for about an hour in the early afternoon 3-4 days a week. I don't know if that is normal or not. I first thought that I was just trying to recover from work. Now I'm thinking that I shouldn't be wanting to nap in the afternoons?

I made a big pot of noodle soup last night. That seemed right with the cooler temps and was very good.

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning

Waiting to board to start my trip to see my Mother as her life winds down. Front door to gate in 30 minutes. Active trick or treating yesterday. Not much candy left. I am down 5lbs just being more aware of eating and 3 days tracking with WW. I have a long way to go. This trip will be a challenge.

    Mornin' gents.

    I voted yesterday.
    Safe travels, Bill. (((Bill's DM)))
    Congrats on the loss, Bill!
I was the youngest person at dog training yesterday. There were four of us. I got really frustrated with two of the guys who just weren't keeping focused. I should lighten up, they are both in their 80s now. I left training in a huff and had to find a quiet spot to relax and breath. I think there has been a lot of stress this week that just came the surface yesterday. Not very proud of myself. I will seek forgiveness today. Thank you for listening.
Hiking Mt Wachusett weekly sounds like a good goal.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Enjoy the trip, Bill, and the love of your mother. We need to embrace all the stages of life, even those at the end, with grace.

That is a steep trail, Mike. I hate steps - especially coming down. Great plan, to hike it regularly.

Nothing wrong with napping, to me. I take one every few days.

When I find myself getting more irritated than is warranted, I can often head it off if I make a conscious effort. I have had several melt-down episodes the last couple years and they give me pause. Dementia, or even just acting like an old man, is a great fear of mine.

Rita has all my woodturnings organized, and we are in the process of pricing and labeling everything. I know we are marking things way below what others charge for similar pieces. The object, though, is to sell a lot, not to stroke my ego. You have to know the audience, too. People at a holiday bazaar might only pay $60 for something that could bring hundreds in an art gallery downtown. But gallery listings are hard to get, require contracts and commitments to produce what and when they need, and they take commissions. Anyway, Rita is doing a lot of work. I told her I'd split the proceeds with her 50/50.

    Good Morning,
Lots of life changes coming about Lee, even positive changes can cause stress and build up.
Dave your turnings are beautiful and yes you do sell them to low, but you enjoy making them and Rita enjoys selling; that is what matters.
Much better to spend time with mother while living than later. Hope you have a great visit, Bill.
Congrats on hike up mountain Mike and know you will figure out piano.
I try to get in an afternoon nap daily, even when working would get a twenty-minute nap right after eating lunch; some naps may be closer to an hour now.
