I was a bit tardy with yesterday's Roll Call. I chimed in this am, LOL.
So the specialty pharmacy texts me that my Skyrizi was shipped yesterday at 3:53 PM via Fed Ex to my home address. The only problem is no one will be here, and I was planning on leaving from work to travel to Easton PA for the field trial near there tomorrow. I spent an hour on the phone navigating messaging systems to a human representative at Fed Ex and the pharmacy. It seems that once the item has been shipped, no one can do anything about it. It's a very expensive perishable item. My question to the pharmacy was why do they ship without confirming with the recipient that there will be someone there to receive? They had no answer. Evidently their text notification system just works that way. No warning other than the text that the item has shipped, with there being nothing that can be changed about timing or address delivered to. I firmly asked to be removed from the test notification system.
Now I will be getting on the road an hour later than I wanted because I have to return home (opposite direction of Easton) to take care of the very expensive perishable item.
Prayers for your DS, Bill.
West Coasters seem to have an elitist attitude! Especially after the World Series.

Morning.
Lee, good strategy on election controversy avoidance.
Bill, hope the house sells quickly, after all that preparation. Good luck!
Had semi-annual cardiologist visit yesterday. Went well; he ordered an ultrasound to check my noisy aortic valve. Everything else seemed okay. I do need to get serious about losing weight, which is creeping upwards, not downwards.
Inquired on a piano technicians' forum about fixing the Steinway piano with no black keys. Sounds like its an expensive proposition. Can't just simply take another similar piano's keys because they're all different; back in 1890 even the same models from the same factory would differ.

Good morning!
I missed yesterday's roll call all together.
That is frustrating Lee about the meds. Shipping can be a real pain in the tail section at times.
Our neighbor has a male dog that is roughly 60 pounds. That dog will bark non-stop at anything near his yard. The problem is that the neighbors just let him out. He does not have a e-collar and they do not have a fence. He will come straight into our yard and go after Frankie and I. I was yelling at him to go home yesterday. This is like the third time in less than two weeks. Next time, I think I am going to have to call animal control. They know that he does this, because there are times I hear a quiet whistle and he turns and heads for his door. It is the neighbors as much as the dog. They are not learning and are lazy in taking care of the dog. I always have Frankie on a leash even in our yard. Not only because she might wander off, but so that she won't find furry friends like a skunk.
More yard work on tap for today. With an acre there is always a lot to do. I have not picked up any leaves yet. We are expecting rain tomorrow. We are still is a draught, but it is getting better.
Sam, that is so cool that you still sub for the school.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
I picked up a new prescription Rita has for dry eyes. The doctor mentioned that it was expensive, so Rita asked me to see how expensive it is. I was aghast. A month supply was up to $780, if without insurance. Now, we pay nothing because of the coverage the Army gives us, but that price is obscene. Even the med she was using costs more than $600 for a 30-day supply. There is a reason drug companies are among the most profitable. They're price gouging crooks. My rant for the morning.
I am very gradually creeping down in weight. Haven't gone nuts on dieting but tracking and avoiding dessert stuff is doing the trick. Plan to join a gym, too. That should help for the bad-weather months.0 -
Good Morning,
Dave you touched a nerve with me, the meds can be purchased in Canada or Mexico generally at 1/10 the cost in U.S. yet it is illegal for us to purchase drugs from outside the country even though they are all manufactured from same company. We pay very little if any for drugs but it still bothers me what insurance is paying; our supplement is increasing to $239 a month next year for the two of us.
Heavy fog this morning causing a heavy mist when taking Pablo out for morning walk, though sun was burning through a few minutes ago but back to very cloudy now.
Got 3 tomatoes yesterday and noticed lots of green ones on vines as I headed to pull up cages, will wait now. Highs dropping into 60's middle of next week.
Everyone here is required to keep dogs and cats on a leash or in a fence, I see animal control come through several times a week. Now if they would do something about deer and armadillos it would greatly help.
Lee, delivery of drugs is why DW switched back to picking up drugs from local drug store; our cost is the same.
Hoping for a good profitable contract for Bill and Heather.0
