Good morning!
I spent the day picking up leaves yesterday. It is a very big project. I got the toughest parts of the yard done, so today will be easier. I have a John Deere lawn tractor and I pull a lawn sweeper behind it. I have to empty it every several feet where the leaves are the heaviest. It had been so dry and our grass so short/dead/packed, that the leaves were packed in the front yard and I had to had rake them. I need to finish today as rain is coming in tomorrow and is forecast for next week. Today will be more about mowing and mulching as the leaves are not as heavy in those parts of the yard. I am putting all of the leaves in the garden. I'm not sure what I will do with them after that. I hope that they will compost some during the winter, and then I will plow them into the garden in the spring. I really dislike this part of fall. I hurt all over and I'm sure today won't help, but it will be done.
Not much else to report.
Bill, I am so happy for you and Heather. I imagine that you have a lot of area to explore. I hope that you have grand fun will exploring. I also pray that your house in CA sells quickly this week.

Good morning gentlemen.
We have three trees large enough to add a leaf-gathering burden. I ground everything with the mower on Sunday. Sunday night we had rain and wind all night, and the yard is covered again. I think I'll mow/mulch one more time. Not today, as we will have rain all day.
Rita got through her balance/inner ear testing OK, yesterday. Won't have the final report om that for a couple weeks. Took her to a casino afterwards to help her get over the aftereffects. She won $300, which made her feel much better.
While we were out our 11-year-old granddaughter dropped off two apple tarts at our house. She baked and decorated them by herself. Really tasty. She also left a pair of handmade Veterans Day cards from she and her brother. Great kids.0 -

I have been watching the accumulation of leaves in the small yard this house has and was going to rake them so they could go in the green waste cart yesterday. But there isn't a rake in the garage. My motivation died at that point. Heather and Pat are heading off this morning to get their Covid shot. Heather is headed to Wisconsin on Saturday. My stomach is going through one its stretches of unhappiness a parting gift from radiation and the C. Diff infection earlier this year. I will work on calming it down. Today is calls to our insurance agent, AARP Medicare and others to take care of transitional matters. Trying to resist the urge to sign up for the NBA package so I can stream the Warriors game tonight and going foward on my laptop. I miss the Dubs. I slipped on WW and am trying to do better. The stomach stuff seems to sap my energy for it. At least that's my excuse.0 -
Oh my leaves falling like crazy. Put a bunch of dry ones just before the rains and drop them off a free leaf drop site on Saturday. Also was able to mulch in some leaves with a lawn mower before the rains too.
Fair amount of rain last couple of days adding up to almost 1.5" so glad I got some leaves up before the rains.
Yup Bill hope your CA house sells soon indeed. So sorry about the tummy/gut issues.
And Sam so sorry about your knee.
My back seems to be mostly doing better and my shoulder too. slowly working on that.

Realized I haven’t checked in since Friday. Lee, that ribbon is bigger than your dog. Congrats.
Found another Steinway piano for sale I’m going to look at tomorrow. Not an 1890’s antique, but looks like it’s in real good shape. Not $99 like the one with no black keys. It’s a lot more money but nowhere near as expensive as similar ones I’ve seen.
Found out that when they make piano keys they cut them out of one solid piece of wood. And first the wood is laid atop the frame for the pins that guide the keys. Holes are drilled through the board and the frame at the same time, so everything will line up perfectly. Making replacements that fit is almost impossible. They’ll make a whole keyboard and frame, enormously costly.
I fell once bike riding with 8 y.o. DGS. He said let’s go left here, so I turned left; meanwhile he turned right and cut me off. He’s a sophomore playing college football now so he better know his left from right.
Today rereading the workbook for Light-Weigh program I did a few years ago and having a much better food day so far.
