First snow of the season this am. Pretty. M is not impressed with the snow. She is now all about Colorado home/community and will not say anything complimentary about our home of over 20 yrs. I guess I have another year of geographic negativity. She really would like for me to just pack up move to CO now. (((sigh)))
Wanna buy a house on 3 acres near Litchfield CT, Mike?
Things are certainly moving along for you, Bill.
Did you say shoulder jt replacement, Sam?
Onward and downward ;-)0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Listening to heavy rain pounding down as I type. Should clear enough for a walk this afternoon.
The trip to Salem was OK. Traffic through Portland in the afternoon was a pain - as usual. We signed a contract with a realtor and looked over the preparations for the estate sale, which starts today. I brought back a pair of jackets that were my dad's and fit me well. I now have a heavy Filson Cruiser jacket for cold days. I don't think dad wore it much. He had an old greed plaid cruiser he wore for years while working in the woods. I think my sister's son-in-law will end up with that one.
Glad you have a plan for your shoulder, Sam. Joint replacements have become much more common - and effective - in recent years, it seems to me.0 -
Good Morning,
Cold here this morning, they say will warm near 50, high will rise to 70 Monday.
Why would Mary be impressed by a little snow when Monument averages 110 inches a year.
Believe you are going to need a larger tractor to keep drive cleared out there.
Biopsies for DW this afternoon.
They are limited to amounts of pain killers they can write prescriptions for, nurse called to inform me all I need to do is call for refills through February; guess they are going to keep me drugged. I have no intention of taking that many drugs but if I did not have a conscience could easily sale drugs but then I do not want to see jail from other side.
Mike, hope you find someone who will move piano at a reasonable price.
I am cooking for lodge Monday: baby-back ribs, potato salad, baked beans and Lemon Velvet Cake.
Hard to believe it is Thanksgiving next week, this year has passed so fast; reckon they are right the older one gets the faster time seems to pass.0 -
Good luck with the biopsies of DW Sam and also your pesky shoulder. Your Lodge sounds great and your cooking.
Good luck Lee taking care of business and transitioning to Colorado.
Filson Jackets are great as you know Dave. Have safe travels between Salem and Tumwater.
Off to do stuff.0 -
Good afternoon. Sam I think Pablo has figured out how to get attention. Limps only when someone is looking?
I grew up in SW Connecticut and have been in beautiful Litchfield a few times. Canoed the Housatonic rapids a ling time ago with DS thinking it was easy, before I took a whitewater paddling class.
Am tweaking my piano moving equipment and brainstorming all the possible things that can go wrong. Dying to test my ramp-winch I concocted a year ago.
For a laugh you should watch Laurel and Hardy piano moving on YouTube.0 -
Good Morning
110" of snow. To each their own, but I suppose grandchildren more than balances that out.
Slept in for the first time in a long time. It feels good. Heather comes home Monday night. II have been under the weather for a bit but seem to be rebounding. Sleep didn't hurt either. booked time with our Realtor to see 3 homes Tuesday morning. In the meantime, I will straighten up around here a bit, play at some music, do some reading/studying and get out for a walk.0
