LOVE my Filson gear. So much cooler that it was yer dad's.
M hates snow. The snow in Monument rarely accumulates for more than a day or two. The arid environment tends to burn it off pretty quick and DGS definitely makes it totally OK.
Gotta put the nose to the grindstone today.

Good morning!
Lee, I know that there are pluses to staying out that last year. BUT, there are many pluses to pulling the plug now and moving. You can get great transitional health plans to cover until you are Medicare. That is what I am doing. My health insurance is $317 per month, which to me makes retirement worth it.
I had a health scare yesterday/last night. I take Zoloft for depression and anxiety, along with Wellbutrin. My counselor had recommended that I cut the amount of Zoloft in half, so I started doing that earlier this week. It appears that you are really only supposed to cut back 1/10th to 1/4 per week for 10 weeks each step. Humm.... I for a minute thought that I was having a stroke last night. I got real dizzy, nauseous and scared. I finally felt that I could go to sleep at 11:30 without the bed spinning too fast. Connie was great support. I am still not right this morning. I took a full Zoloft before going to bed and I am NOT going to try to cut back at this time. Whew! Today will likely be a sit and recover day.
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Google tells me that the annual snowfall in Colorado Springs averages 57 inches, rather than 110. Record total, there, is 97 inches. I'd guess the snow is a lot lighter and dryer there than in Connecticut, too.
We're doing our early Thanksgiving feast today. Following the advice on a Jacque Pepin video, my turkey will go in the oven around 12:30, for a 3 p.m. meal. "Stuffing" will cook in a Crockpot. I'll make mashed potatoes and the gravy while the bird rests. Already baked corn pudding and just need to heat up the rolls. Should be a relatively easy operation.
DS and family are driving into the Olympic National Forest this morning, to cut their Christmas tree. That has become their annual tradition, rather than buying a cultivated tree from a lot or local farm. They'll be over here by early afternoon. There is plenty of interesting football on TV, today, too, so that will give it a Thanksgiving-like vibe.

Yikes Steve, that is scary.
Lee, is DW in the new house when she’s there or staying with the family? Hope things iron out; hard to leave a job and neighborhood you like and are accustomed to. Grandmothers wanting to cuddle GKs are a force to be reckoned with however.
Brainstorming physics of levers and inclined planes to figure feasibility of moving piano up 3 short flights to my condo. Would recruit 2 DGS’s, a running back and defensive lineman for Holy Cross College. It’s 3rd floor but entrance is raised ground and 1st floor is basement so 3 flights of only 7 steps each. And roomy landings in between. More to come.
Have been good not eating between and walks or hikes most days.

Good Morning
I love the optimism Mike. I look forward to hearing about the rehab of the piano.
After my Lent small group zoom call, I am heading out to by warmer socks. I went for a walk yesterday wearing an old pair of running socks. My feet were not happy. I seem to have gotten over my reluctance to wear socks and shoes when I am outside. But I am also getting my Birkenstocks rehabbed. But those will never be warn with socks. So wrong. I will continue to ramp up regular exercise and get back to my old Silver Sneakers videos. There is room to do them here. Today I will take another step into Oregon life style and try a Dutch Bros drive thru for coffee. I hate drive thrus but it seems to be a way of life here for coffee.0 -
Bill, you will have to learn that wearing sandals with wool socks is a Pacific Northwest thing. Like wearing shorts with a down puffy jacket. (LOL)0

Our wee farm is in Monument CO, not Colorado Springs
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monument,_Colorado#:~:text=Colorado Springs (20 miles to,inches of snow per year.
Truthfully, I wouldn't mind doing that, Steve. But I do not hate working (Corporate is actually treating me pretty well at this point) and I do not hate my co-workers and I do not hate my clients. I would be leaving my co-workers and my clients in a big lurch if I didn't stick around until the new lady doc is steady on her feet.
M stays at our new place...it's only 20 minutes from the kids' place. We were gonna stay at an AirBnB if it wasn't ready for Christmas, but it is all set. M is heading back out again in 2 weeks with the cat. She might not come back once the cat is settled out there. I told her we could probably get some stray mountain lion to be a new addition to our menagerie.
Bill, you cannot retire the Birkenstocks.

Good morning gentlemen.
Monument seems to be quite a bit higher than the Springs, too, Lee. I was thinking it was just a suburb.
Had a wonderful early Thanksgiving yesterday. We'll be eating leftovers for a few days.0
