    G'Morning~
    • Glad the cruise is off to a great start! Enjoy the tour of those hallowed grounds, Dennis. Pop a salute and a silent prayer of thanks, to the fallen from this USA Veteran!
    • VERY VERY VERY disappointed with Macy's parade. No need to extol my views here - but wow! There is another chain I will be sure to avoid for future purchases! A PURE annual event that has went awkwardly and very calculated #Woke!
    • Thanksgiving here was a bust. DBIL/DSIL didn't come (family emergency). They may come today. DW and I enjoyed quiet dinner at Ruths Chris.
    • Back on the computer this morning with terrible headache and VERY dizzy (unusual). Hoping to make WI at 9:30a and break off computer shortly after lunch.
    • Have a super weekend!
    Cheers,
    Skip

    Morning BBB

Glad all is well Dennis and you got some turkey!

What's next step with these headaches, Skip? Please follow up and push for some answers with your medical team...

I'm up and off to take ds1 back to airport. Must be the first flight out at this hour, and it's cold, dark, and we got a snow dusting.

Only purchase I plan to make today is our Christmas tree.

Our dinner and evening was wonderful! Our granddaughter showed off her shirt that read "big sister". Yep, they announced baby 2 is coming in July!

Hope you all have a good day!

    Mornin' BBB

Sorry about your Turkey Day disappointment and your forever headache, Skip. Thankfully, I have never been a parade goer/watcher. I used to abhor parade duty as a Boy Scout and National Guardsman. NYC is about as woke as it gets. We snuck into Manhattan for dinner on the east side as the parade hoopla was flickering out.
Our dinner at a Manhattan restaurant was excellent. I had a magnificent prime rib for Thanksgiving. First time ever.
DS#2 announced at dinner that he wanted to join us for Colorado Xmas. Big bonus. M was over the moon. He has been a bit withdrawn family wise lately.
How did the Nesco Turkey come out, Mary? First time? Brilliant idea, really. Unless you have more than one oven, juggling getting all the other dishes prepared and ready to go at the same time is kind of stressful.
The beaches of Normandy are allowed grounds indeed. The lives that were given on that day. Hopefully never again.

    Good morning BBB friends.

Glad the trip is starting off well, Dennis.

I am pretty woke, too, fellas, and you seem to tolerate me OK. I hate watching parades, anyway. Last time I did was the Rose Parade, years ago, when my niece was marching in the University of Oregon Band. Sorry about your Thanksgiving, though, Skip.

Never made it out of the house yesterday. I was feeling kind of off, so we skipped the mess hall dinner. Rita made fried rice, and I ate leftover storebought pumpkin pie (not very good).

Today is devoted to washing both vehicles and putting a couple coats of finish on a large, natural-edge walnut turning.

    Good morning.

Macy's parade got weird several years ago, Skip. Of course, my biggest gripe is just that they don't have simple commentary about who the high school band is and then let us listen a bit. They weave in plugs constantly and it's just unwatchable.

I'm not saying that we overdid it last night, but the dog was complaining this morning about the smell coming from the bathroom this morning.

    Morning gang.

Dennis Normandy is a definate wonder.

Our Thanksgiving was nice. Met over a dozen new people. Food was good but honestly not as good as my sister makes. However someone brought tres leches cake. It's heavenly.

Today totally back on plan to flush out all the extra sugar I ate...wine and cake. I was down 1.3 at WI yesterday. Any loss this week would put me at #10 in 10 weeks which is slow but faster than my last go round.

Lee exciting news. The whole family together.

We booked a cruise yesterday. Santiago Chili to Buenos Aires for February. Now to build the rest of the trip.

    Good Morning,
We had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday, cooked turkey on grill rest on stove or in oven. Don't really like turkey but this turned out moist with slight smoke taste.
DGS brought tree up and put up, have not gotten anyone to decorate yet. Cannot have live tree due to DD's allergies.
Glad cruise is going great Dennis,
Hope they find a cause for headaches Skip and can fix without much trouble.
Congrats to losers! I would be happy to stay the same; cannot do and take medication they prescribe.
Great that DS#2 is joining family for Christmas in CO.
Yes, Dave you are very Woke, but we have learned to embrace difference, and you are not the only woke here. In neighborhood this year we made jokes about cancelling out others vote; we are most still friends; one or two has taken exception and staying to self but with time will adjust and start working toward mid term elections. If everyone believed the same this would be a very boring nation. Knowing ultimately God is in control helps as pendulum swings back and forth.
Congrats on another grand on way Mary!

What an amazing humbling photo, Dennis.

SGM - in my Foundations of Administration class I extol that dissenting views should not be an open door for slander and repose. I've always appreciated varying views and the opportunity to exchange humor along the way too.

Case in point. A dear friend of ours from the CA Bay Area are polar opposite of us politically. She called me months ago to ask if she could stay with us the weekend prior to January 20th as she wanted to be "in person and witness the first woman president being sworn into office!"

Of course we said, YES! Any opportunity to see them is always a great time.

I emailed them last week to make sure they are still coming.

Yes, they are, and joked, "we'll enjoy indoor and warmer activities like drinking wine!"

My response was, GREAT! I bought us a new bottle to enjoy:

Life is too short to be argumentative and polarizing.

    Mornin' BBB

When I first saw the "45", my mind went to the .45-70 govt gun caliber, then I realized it was for the 45th and 47th presidencies. So far am I removed from our either this or that political system. My Libertarian side is getting stronger. So if I were to sport a wine label with a statement, I would serve this bottle.
