Fired up the grill last night and roasted some salmon fillets. Aldi's had some pretty decent salmon yesterday, so M snagged them for me on her morning grocery shopping excursion.
Nice morning with the girls hunting after digging out of snow. Two roosters hanging in the shed.
M's 2014 Camry has 190K and needs more work than it is worth. The engine and drive train are fine, but it's suspension is shot. We'll keep it limping along as a utility vehicle until we leave CT for good. Good she already has a brandy new RAV4 in Colorado.
I agree about the watering the lawn issue. Mulch it.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning!

Doc gave me a clean bill of health yesterday and gave me prescriptions through May. I am starting to feel better from my fall. My ribs still hurt a little, but nothing is broken.

I'm going to try to get a few things done around the house today. Tomorrow, we are looking at going to Loess Bluffs NWR, about 1.5 hours north of here. This week there were 350 bald eagles spotted there, and over 250,000 ducks and geese. The count can get as high as 2,000,000 birds, but we are ready to go now, and don't want to try and time out the larger gathering of birds. It will still be very cool to see what is there now, and the weather tomorrow is supposed to be nice. I think we'll take Collin with us. He wrapped up his 2nd week of work this morning, and seems to like it. He is being groomed for production lead. I am praying earnestly that this one works out for him.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Wildlife refuge sounds amazing, Steve. You've talked about it before, as I remember.

I cleaned out the shavings around my lathe yesterday, then replaced a lot of it while working on a pretty cherry platter I rough-turned last spring. I'll play with that again this morning. I also have to figure out a digital timer for some of Rita's holiday lights. I picked it up at Harbor Freight. One of the prices for the low cost is that the controls are not as easy to understand as they might be.

We have the grandkids for the weekend, Sassy will be overjoyed.

    Mornin'

Got about 6-8" of snow yesterday, now roads all plowed and sun is shining wonderfully. Will warm up a bit next week and rain Wednesday, so might all disappear. I love the snow. Meanwhile DD home of late from Hawaii is huddled in her apartment in trepidation.

Prayers for Colin; hope they make him CEO someday.

Off to Home Depot today and other errands.

Christmas concert rehearsal was last night--I have a lot of practicing to do. They handed out chocolate chip cookies afterward. The spirit was willing, but the flesh is weak.

I once tried online lessons. Piano lessons for me are a small group at the senior center with a teacher who only charges $5 a week. I find that in-person works better--lots of feedback and personal correction to what I'm doing wrong, and encouragement from the teacher and the group. Plus motivation to practice enough to not be embarrassed at the next class. And it's a social thing as well; a friendly group.

With snow and ice, let's stay vertical everyone. Onward and downward.

    Good Morning

Glad to hear you will live after your fall, Steve. Enjoy the Reserve.

Our home in Calif is now day to day on closing. We are ahead of schedule so no worries. Buyers made some noise yesterday about a couple things they noted in the walk through. One was already resolved and a video was sent to show them, but that wasn't how they wrote it. We shall see. Today we are off to Florence to the house for the Inspection. We will do some measuring and make some notes while he finishes up and then walks us through his results. Shouldn't be much. We will then head over to the walk in clinic in Florence. I have blood in my urine consistently the last day and a half. Probably not a good thing. I need to find a Urologist anyway to keep the cancer monitoring going as well. So if there is time I will try and schedule an appointment to transfer care to a local Urology group over there.
