Busy last two days, piano move went into overtime on Friday with DS (5 hours just getting it on a dolly and in the truck) With driving time and Home Depot rental truck snafus by the time I got it home I was it was so late we decided to hold over till morning.
DD stopped by after I crashed in my recliner with a birthday cake thinking there’d be a football team here to eat it but it was just me.
Yesterday my SIL and two GS’s came around 9 and amid the brotherly poking and jabbing and loud joking we finished up by noon. Halfway up the stairs a tenant told me “you can’t have musical instruments in the building—it’s in the condo deed”. Spent rest of day putting equipment and tool in order and looking over my piano. It’s all in one piece — and miraculously nobody got hurt.

Didn’t get any pictures of the move in action but here’s the team.

Good morning!
Mike, the piano looks awesome! Great purchase you made. You are going to love restoring that piece of beauty.
Bill, I purchased a Trek (Townie Go) step through e-assist bike two years ago. I got the step through for my arthritic hip. I love it. I simply need to spend more time riding it. I highly recommend the step through bike as opposed to the step over. The e-assist is great on helping level out hills.
I definitely hurt my ribs again. So yesterday afternoon we went to urgent care to get an x-ray. Because I had already seen my doctor, and this urgent care was through a different health care group, they declined to see me. The diagnostic image center that my GP wrote the prescription for is not open on the weekend. I am going to limp along until Monday morning. I could go to Leavenworth and get it done today, but we will likely wait until tomorrow. I should not be able to feel things move inside my rib cage. Sigh....
Chiefs take on the Browns today in Cleveland.
Have a great day!

Good morning gentlemen.
Wow, you posted early, Mike! Actually, I wondered about a piano in a condo apartment. Hope that doesn't cause any future grief. Great photos, by the way.
Hope the ribs aren't too painful today, Steve.
Another day with cold rain. And that's all that is on the forecast for the next two weeks. December in Western Washington. Church this morning, then driving Rita, I suspect. I started working on a large madrone bowl, yesterday. There are a couple large cracks in the wood that I am trying to stabilize and fill, so it doesn't fly apart on me. I might get back to that for a while today, too. Seahawks play in the late game.0 -
Mornin' gents.
Putting my wee tractor on the trailer today so I can drop off for repair early tomorrow on the way to the practice. I think a gasket needs replacing. Runs OK, but is leaking oil almost a fast as I can fill it up.
Getting prepped for trek west on Thursday.
Got an automatic watering system for plants, but will have someone come in and check a couple of times anyway.
Onward and downward ;-)0 -
What a good buy, will be a great looking piano once you get it restored.
Hope you can get ribs taken care of tomorrow.
I was fortunate with my little old tractor; 87 John Deere, guy who bought from me still has and other than yearly maintenance no issues.
On second round of antibiotics for crud, this is getting old.
Bill, glad home purchase is going as planned; will be great to be settled down; pray PSA and UT come out good.
Cloudy and cold today but will warm up till next front comes through with rain Wednesday or Thursday then highs back to 40's.0 -
Good Morning
That piano is looking pretty good for its age. Mike, with your abilities, it will look even better and sound wonderful. Did you check the HOA doc about instruments? I never heard that one before. Noise restrictions at night yes but not musical instruments. I am sorry the ribs have reversed course Steve. We'll pray this morning for another reversal and healing. We picked up a few things at Home Depot for the bathrooms at our house. Not a lot of options/selection over on the coast. Today is Day 1 of a 2 day virtual Holiday Concert by many of the musicians who teach at my Quarantune Dulcimer Festivals. I am also tuning mine up again. There is no solitude in this living situation. It is hard enough to have time to do Morning/Evening prayer liturgy and just sit still. Dulcimer time is limited. I prefer to play in solitude, not a busy room.0 -
I did check condo documents beforehand, got them directly from the management company to make sure current. Says, no music lessons. Instruments must be played softly after 10PM and cannot anytime disturb other residents. Black and white. I printed it this morning and will frame it in case anyone asks.1
