Furiously doing laundry this morning. Taking my wee tractor to shop to get it fixed while I'm away. I'll probably need it when I get back to move snow. Then heading to practice for last day of work in 2024.
I have a wooden salad bowl that my mom's family used. Not sure how old it is or what kind of wood, probably something native to northern VA or the vicinity. It appears to be a solid piece. Not pretty, but warm and functional. Drives me crazy when M puts it in the sink and fills it with soapy water. I keep telling her she is gonna kill it trying to get it clean. I feel it is priceless.
Pretty neat feat getting that piano in your apartment, Mike. So glad nothing got broke, animate and non animate.
Prayers continue for Joanne.
Onward and downward ;-)

G’Morning…
House sitting till Christmas Eve for DD & fam. Her DH and boys are the ones who helped me move the piano. Nice house and yard, woodstove sole heat because radiant electric heat went kaput. Like a camping trip. House is all decorated with lights and tree and a life size santa who creeps me out when I forget and first walk in the room. Friday will be dogsitting as well for Rosie the Bernese Mtn beast.
Didn’t check in yesterday; busy at bible study, shopping and packing for a week away from home.
Sam, I never could figure out what ROMEO meant… now I know.
Steve, I hope there’s nothing difficult going on with the ribs. Christmas and shopping can wait till you get fixed.
Have a good day everyone0 -
Good morning!
Stoopid doctor's office never got back with me yesterday about my ribs. The doctor has to read the results and then I can find out. I know my doctor does not work on Wednesdays. I am very frustrated. I am in less pain, but something is very wrong with my ribs. Again this morning they moved and clicked. That is not normal.
I am driving to Leavenworth (half hour) this morning to do some Christmas shopping for Connie. Leavenworth has an old time Main Street with lots of little shops. Perfect for shopping for gifts.
Prayers continue for Bob, Sam, and Joanne.
Hang in there Bill with the house stuff. Almost at the finish line!
Have a great day!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
A stormy night, lots of wind and rain. Power went out a couple of times, briefly.
Have to wait around for a technician from Lazy Boy to come repair one of the new recliners we bought a couple months ago. The leather upholstery is coming apart in the back, just from normal reclining. My old recliner lasted 22 years. The new one, which cost twice as much, probably won't last five. I want to drift away into an old man rant.
Sassy is giving me the "take me to the backyard" stare, so I'd better do that, rather than rant.0 -
Sounds as Frankie and Sassy want to go out too early, at least Pablo will wait till 7 and daylight.
Getting doctors to do what we want is a major pain; they know they have the upper hand.
Would like to burn wood for heat provided I have a large enough wood pile.
Very foggy here this morning but should warm to low 70's before front comes through about 6 and we see highs in 40's next few days.
Safe travels Lee0 -
Good Morning
Safe Travels Lee. I hope you and Steve can hook up along the way.
My Lazy Boy lasted about 20 years. The mechanism broke just before pandemic, but it has a lifetime warranty so they ordered a new part after a long search due to the age of the model and came out to install for $50 fee. I loved that chair. The material finally wore out so my wife took me chair shopping right before my knee surgery. I can't wait to get it back. Busy day yesterday. We bought a washer dryer. Small town living meant limited selection that wouldn't need to be ordered so we would have it when we move in. Still have to find a pantry cabinet for the garage. We got an email while in town from the title company to arrange signing so we swung by in the afternoon and signed. I am off to the bank to do the wire midday today. We still need a pantry cabinet. I will try Home Depot and have it shipped0
